Sandy,
I recently found a record at the LDS church stating that Judith was Judith
Orms. I found the person who submitted the information and she couldn't not
remember the reference to establish her surname. She did remember who gave
her the information and gave me that information.
I located where that person lived and sent a letter about two months ago.
No response. I checked the SSI death index to see if she had perhaps passed
away and did not see a listing.
Could not find a telephone number for her.
So I have been trying to research "Orms" families to see if I can find
anything. Not much luck. If they were in Giles County they left no trace.

Sandy, Your John C Bevers is brother to my Great Great Grandfather George Rice Bevers 1825-1904 wife Lucinda Jane Tacker 1825-1873. Sorry I have no info on Judith other than probably what you have. Do you have Bobbie Watson Ross's book "Taylor & Bevers, Pioneer Families of Palo Pinto County Texas". Good documentation in her book. Sadly she died last year but her book is still available.
Not only did John Clack serve in the Revolutionary war, but his wife, Sarah (Sally) Standifer's father, James Standifer was a patriot as well.
Email me directly and I will be happy to send you copies of my DAR papers by USPS. The papers stop at the Patriot, tho DAR may have further info in their library.
As to our John Clack's father, everything I have shows is father as James Clack III, then James Clack II, then (poss. Rev.) James Clack I; William Clack b. 1625 Marden, Whittshire, England son of Richard Clack. This from Bobbie Ross's book. Not certain of verification of all the earlier facts, but from John and Sarah on are verified by her.
Edna ClackSach's book on pp12-20 goes into great detail re research on Rev. James Clack. contact me directly for more info fclaface(a)swbell.net

The book was privately published, 326 pages. Edna Clack Sachs printed only as many as she sold pre-publication. As far as I know she has not reprinted. Addresses in 2001; Edna Clack Sachs 302 Antique Lane, Spring City TN 37381, woodchippy(a)aol.com or Joyce Kerr, 884 N. McLean, Memphis, TN 38107, jokerr(a)midsouth.rr.com. I would try both of them and see of any more printed. IncIdentally, didn't find any of your Clacks in the index. I am descended from John Clack II and Sally Standifer ofGiles Co.,TN & have a DAR supplemental application on John ClackII who was Private in Revolutionary War. This Clack & wife Sally Standifer are outlined in her book.

I looked in the only geneaolgy publication that I have regarding Clack family, that is, "Clack and Kindred Souls, As the Crow Flies" (Spencer and Mary Clack and their descendants) by Edna Clack Sachs and Joyce Kerr, Compiled June 2001. There is a wealth of information there, but I find no mention of your Daniel Franklin Clack or Howard Pierce Clack branch of the family. Sorry of no help. Frances LaFace.
