Hello Geoff - I know the board was last entered into in 2002 for the Clack queries - but I am just online and researching my lineage through marriage. I know not where they came from -but the following info I recieved from my GAunts marriage cert.
Charles John Clack (father Charles Hussey Clack) married Alice Hough in Chiswick, Mdsx 1898. He was 23 and she 21 (?)
A Kate Clack was witness. they lived at 44 Swanscombe Road in 1898. Later on they had 3 children and lived outside of London. Last letter from them was in 1940 from Acton.
My GM Hannah (Annie) Louise Robins was a cousin to Charles John Clack. Do you have any Robins on the tree?
Her father was James Robins (deceased at time of her marriage to Henry Albert Hough in 1904) He was a labourer.
A Mary Robins signed the cert as witness. Hannah later moved to Canada with her son Henry Hough and joined her husband in Montreal. She and her husband died in Montreal of the 1919 flue epidemic leaving my father an orphan. We have no contact with any family and would dearly love to connect. If you can be of any assistance - I truly will be grateful. My one hope is to find Charles and Alices children (3 or 2 of them) Last letter from Alice Clack was in 1935 to 1940. address - 5 Osborne Rd. Acton W3. Husband called Charlie. His mother was Sally Clack. Children - Alice, Try and Charlie Bob. So there must be a Charlie Clack somewhere nearby????(1935 letter) I don't know what name is Try? From Alices writing it could be Alice Try and Charlie Bob send their love.????? Muriell.

Hello from Canada - I am back online now and need to play catchup. You say you have my family tree for the Clacks?
Please confirm and how can I get this information.
I sent for the marriage cert. of Charles John Clack and my GAunt Alice Hough. they were married in 1898 at Chiswick, Mdsx. Charles father = Charles Hussey Clack (deceased at the time) and Edward Hough for Alice. (of Nottingham)
Charles was 23 and Alice 21 (??)they lived at 44 Swanscombs Road. There is a Kate Clack who signed as a witness. Do you have any Hough's on the tree as well? Where did the original Clack's come from? Wiltshire possibly? My GM Hannah (annie) Robins was a cousin to Charles J Clack. She married my GF Henry Albert Hough - met him while living with her cousin Charles and his wife Alice. I would dearly love to know more about them and if there are any living relatives of Charles and Alice in England or ? Best Wishes - Muriell Hough Madden.
