Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

Thank you for replying and for clearing this up for me. I had a hard drive
crash and lost most of my files. I am going back over 10 year old files from
when I first started researching my Clack families so I know I have a lot of
errors to correct (again). I appreciate your explaining the relationship and
the corrections for me. It is greatly appreciated.

This is not correct. Charity Smith (1813-1880) is the daughter of James & Sarah Ragsdale Smith, James was son of David & Rebecca Lindley Smith. James was therefore brother of Catherine Smith Clack, the wife of George Washington Clack. This making Sterling & his wife Charity Smith first cousins on the Smith side, grandchildren of David & Rebecca Lindley Smith.
