I have a William David Clark, born Wales, immigrated to Canada, died in
California. Are we talking the same W D Clack?
Cherie;
May I have the address of the person who sent that info?
Altho I am researching a Julia Hinds married to a Judge Clack in Tulare
Co. CA - I also have a William Clark who died 11 Mar 1871 in California.
His father, Patrick Xavier Clark(and family?), immigrated from County
Wexford, IRE to Ontario Canada in the 1830s. William and his
brother,Thomas Clark (my direct ancestor), immigrated to CA in the 1860s
where Thomas married and settled in San Jose.
According to family tradition, in March 1871 the first telegram in
Marysville, Calif. (Another family member thinks it was possibly Petaluma)
was sent to Thos. Clark in San Jose to inform him of his brother William's
death. The family cannot remember the reason of death. No mention was made
of his marriage status. I do not know his middle name but his younger
brother's middle name was David.
