Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Good Morning:
I have another great web site for any of you that are researching your
Scottish ancestry:
http://www.open.gov.uk/gros/groshome.htm
It's the Scottish Registry Office. Hope you have a wonderful day.

Hello,
I have recently made available documents for display on my "Clack Family
Genealogy" webpage that is located at:
http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/bgbone/clack.html
The documents recently added are:
The marriage record of Rev. James and Mary Rivers (generously provided by
Frank Clack - frankc(a)advancedbionics.com).
Voucher of Moses Clack's service in the VA regiment and a Muster and Pay
Roll record of his service in the Revolutionary War. These were given to
me by JoAnn Freeman - freeman(a)futureone.com.
Let me know if any of you have any documents that would be of general
interest to CLACK researchers.

Group,
If you are interested the following updates have been made to the "Clack
Family Genealogy" webpage at
http://home.sprynet.com/sprynet/bgbone/clack.html :
I have linked to an image of the marriage record of Rev. James and Mary
Rivers (generously provided by Frank - frankc(a)advancedbionics.com).
I got some documents from JoAnn Freeman (freeman(a)futureone.com) that
concern Moses' service in the VA regiment and a Muster and Pay Roll record
of his service in the Revolutionary War. These copies were scanned in and
the images can be looked at. THANKS JoAnn!
I added a link to Bobbie Ross' webpage.
Stop by sometime and take a look at these additions.

Hello Everyone:
DID YOU KNOW THAT you can go to http:/www.rootsweb.com and pull up all
of the messages that have been posted about Clacks for the last ten
years? See, when you make a post to this list or any other mail list,
it is automatically archived. They never destroy these messages. So,
go to http:/www.rootsweb.com and select "Search" at the top of the
page. It will take you to the search engines. Let's say that you want
to search "ROOTS-L posts from 1987, complete through 11 December 1997"
under "Search the Rootsweb Mailing List Archives." Select "ROOTS-L
posts. . ." and under Query type Clack and select the year that you want
searched and it will pull up every post concerning CLACK that was made
on a rootsweb mail list or posting of any kind. I just tried it for
1997 and pulled up 8 separate messages on CLACKS. Good luck and if you
have any questions, please contact me.

Hello Everyone:
So glad that this list is finally underway. Even though there is only
six of us right now, I can assure you that it will grow in no time. I
am really glad that you guys joined - I wish you lots of luck in finding
your ancestors. One of the members is having difficulty in posting and
I need your help in testing this list. Could each one of you send a
simple message like the following to the above address and let's make
sure everything is working. If you just want to send a message to the
above address right now with the word TEST in the subject line, it would
help a lot.
Looking for any information on Fannie M. Clack b. June 1860 in
Alabama m. to Martin C. Petty b. 1856 in Alabama. They lived in Hot
Springs County, Arkansas.

Dear group,
I am sorry that this has raised such a fury. I think that for the time
being, those of you who wish to subscribe to the CLACK-L list should do so
in addition to participating to this group and those who don't care for the
Rootsweb suggestion can forget that the idea was even presented. As for
me, I will be contributing to both the "Clack Pack" AND the Rootsweb list.
I know that this group has been extremely valuable to me and I hope that
this will continue as it has in the past. In some instances, some of the
posts that I make to this group will also be made to the CLACK-L list,
where deemed appropriate. I don't think that more needs to be said other
than I appreciate your opinions and hope that we can help each other out in
the struggle and adventure of discovering our roots.
