I posted this on Claar Mailing List, but thought that I might post it here to.
Balthasar Claar's first wife was unknown and had five children; Hans J. Casper, Heinrich, Joh. Peter, Rudolf H and Anna. My ancestor was Johann Jacob Klahr born ca1705 in Altersweil or Alltersweil, Switzerland to Casper Klahr/Klar and Unknown.
It is known that Casper had a brother Rudolf and Heinrich.
Information from the book by Rex O Matthews, " Johann Jacob Klahr of Grossbundenbach, Germany, and Berks County, Pennsylvania, and Some of his Descendants. A Heinrich Klar, no known connection died 26, January 1717 in Grossbundenbach, Germany, age 48, he was born in Allerswiel, Switzerland. Could this be Casper Klar's brother.
Rudolf Klar, born ca1702 in Allterswiel, Switzerland and died 24, June 1737. He married a Anna Catharina Bohm on 14, July 1733 in Grossbundenbach, Germany. They had two known children who both died young. Margaretha Elisabeth Klar, born 16, January 1735 and died 08, May 1737 and Eva Christina Anna Klar born 04, March 1737 and died 26, November 1748. Anna Catharina was the daughter of Hans Rauff Bohm, she married second to Peter Buschar.
Could my Klahr/Klar family fit into Balthasar's descendants.
Could you help me and let me know if this is my family. I found on the Switzerland Mailing list on Ancestory.com a Balthasar Clar who was married twice. First to Unknown and second to a Elisabetha.
Children (1) Unknown were Hans J Casper, Heinrich, Joh. Peter, Rudolf H and Anna.
Children (2) Elizabetha were Joh. Jacob and Maria Margaretha.
My family line goes back to a Johann Jacob Klahr/Klar who was married to Catharina Baumgarten on 30, May 1730 in Wiessbach, Germany. He was born ca1705 in Altersweil or Alltersweil, Switzerland and was the son of a Casper Klar and emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1752, debarking the Ship Richard & Mary on 26, September with wife and five children. He and his family went to newly formed Berks County, Pennsylvania.
