She was the daughter of Joseph Mercer and Comfort Nottingham.

I was looking through a web site on Balthasar Clar and the following information was there.
Margaret Elvira Claar was born December 1856 in Jackson County, Ohio. She married John Thompson on 17, May 1873 in Jackson County, Ohio. He was born July 1850 in Ohio.
