Wow, I do remember Sharon, how is she?
I finally found a reference to Clarence in my files. It was in my notes about some family remembrances that Harry had given me back in the 70's!
Harry said that, "Leon (his father) had bought a hotel & saloon in Medicine Hat about 1913. Clara May (his wife) died there of typhoid about 1913 (actual date was 11 Sept 1913) and Leon died the next year (actual date was 3 Jul 1915, and in Bismark)."
He said, "Alice Bey Cissell took over the family, but that Clarence was adopted by another family because he was a baby at the time."
So it looks like Clarence was just too small to be taken care of properly by the remaining Cissells. I note that Clara was just 39 when she died and Leon was 48. I don't know the cause of death for Leon, but I can remember my father mentioning that he had some sort of black mark on his skin.
Dave
