Apparently while I've been down with bronchitis, A new Virus has been
announced and this is what my ISP has said:Dear Xpressweb Customer,
Many of you may have heard already about a computer virus called the
"ILOVEYOU" virus that is currently running rampant on the net. This virus
is delivered via an e-mail message from someone that you know. The
subject line contains the text "ILOVEYOU". The message itself contains an
attachment called LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.TXT.vbs. When this attachment
is opened, it runs the virus program. The virus basically goes through
the contents of your hard disk, and deletes all .jpg (picture) files, as
well as all .mp3 (music) files. It replaces these files with a copy of
the virus. It then proceeds to e-mail a copy of itself to everyone in
your address book. Note that this virus should only be able to affect
computers that have Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 installed. If you do
not have Internet Explorer 5, you may receive the virus, but it should be
incapable of infecting your computer.
Please do not post anything more about these viruses as they are taking up
valuable space and many memebrs get charged for time reading these numerous
posts. Those with Virus software are urged to contact their software
manufacturer and obtain an update.
Thanks for your cooperation in these matters.
