Hi Janice,
It is always good to see more postings. It appears to me, anyway, that I find your spelling Cychosz as more of a Canadian derivation. As stated it appears that the families that went to Winona used Cichosz. Not a big deal, but placing your John Cychosz would be easier if you could supply some dates with the names, even if it is approximate dates. Both names are good in our research as they come from Lippusch/Lipusz parish area.
This thread is usually for the family of Anton (1842-1916) father to Albert (1969-1967) married twice, Frank (1875-1955 -who married a Mary Literska) and had a son Peter, who drowned when he was ten, and Albert's other son Stanislaus (1876-1934). Many of which moved on to Montana.
The other Cichosz family comes down from a Michael Cichosz (1795-abt 1873) and his son John William Cichosz (1820-1900). He also had a son named John/Johan, born about 1850.
This family did not move on to Montana but are still mostly linked to Winona MN and Trempealeau, WI area.
At some point, I am hopeful that we will connect both family groups but it still eludes us at present.
Would love to find out that we can discover how your branch fits in. Can you provide some more details?
Sincerely,
RJ

I'm researching the Cychosz (cichosz) name. It seems that this is the same Cychosz family line. John Cychosz and Mary Ostrowski Ulik. Children were Albert, Joe, Jacob, Marcianna, Anastasia, Peter, Frank, Mary and Louie. My great grandmother was Mary. I have information and have obtained some family pictures. If this is the same cychosz family line I would love to exchange information with you.
Janice
