Sorry I didn't respond sooner. We have requested Albert Cichosz naturalization papers on Friday. He was Anton oldest son and only one born in Poland. I did find out that Alberts and his son both had the middle name Valentine. I will let you know what we find out about Poland.

Are you in Poland? I have been looking for siblings of my husband's grandfather John Valtie Cichosz born around 1872 in Rudnick, Poland. He married (Mary) Rosalie Cwiklinska - probably around 1895. First child Victoria around 1897, lost many children to illnes including Sophie and Elizabeth. Sons Domanick born 1905, Josef in 1907 and Carol (Carl) in 1908. John came to USA/Pennsylvania 12/12/12 with daughter Victoria. Rosalie followed in 1913 with Domanick and Carl and arrived in Nova Scotia, Canada. They all moved to South Bend, Indiana in 1913 and to Muskegon, Michigan (where we all live now) in 1916. Daughter Wanda born 1914 and last child Stanley in 1917 (my father-in-law). Siblings of John Valtie Cichosz unknown but possibly his father was Valentine Cichosz - probably born around 1840 to 1850. We heard that Valentine lived to be 98 or 99 years old in Poland and that he lost many sons - possibly 6 in the war. Any help you can give me is appreciated. We use the!
name Cihos and some use Cihacz. Eloise

I am interested in your Domanick Cichosz born 1866. Do you know where he was born in Poland and other siblings beside Bernard? Also parents names? We had an uncle named Domanick Cihosz born July 1905 in Rudnick, Poland. Parents John Valtie Cichosz born 1972 in Rudnick. Could he be a brother to your Domanick and Bernard? We never heard any sibling names. His wife was Rosalie Cwiklinska Cichosz or possibly Mary Rosalie. He came to Penn. with oldest daughter Victoria 12/12/12 through Ellis Island. Rosalie and sons Domanick, born 1905 and Carl born 1908 came over through Nova Scotia in 1913. They all moved to South Bend, Ind. and then to Muskegon, Mi. in 1916 where we all now live. Son Josef was left behind in Poland with a childless aunt and uncle and came to Canada in the 30's. We have heard that John Valtie Cichosz' father was Valentine and lived to be 99 in Poland. Anything connect with your names and places and dates? We now use the name Cihos and Cihacz.

My father-in-law had a brother Domanick Cichosz born July 1905 in Rudnick, Poland. Parents John Valtie Cichosz born in 1872 and mother Rosalie Cwiklinska Cichosz. John came to the USA in 1912 with oldest daughter Victoria. Rosalie followed in 1913 with sona Domanick and Carl (born 1908). They settled in South Bend, Indiana and then in 1916 to Muskegon, Mi. where we live now. Just wondering if there may be a connection with the name of Domanick Cichosz - not the same person but a family name - cousins or whatever? Did your people come from Rudnick, Poland on the Russian border? We now use name Cihos and some use Cihacz.

It almost seems there may be a connection with the name Valentine Cichosz in both families. Certainly Valentine is not a common name! Did you ever find out what part of Poland Anton came from. Our Valentine Cichosz must have been born between 1840 and 1850 I would guess as his son John Valtie Cichosz was born in Rudnick, Poland in 1872. We were told this was the Russian border area of Poland but I have found there are four Rudnick's in Poland. Did you ever find out the ship Anton came over on or naturalization records on him?

Hi,
I'm not sure if Albert Cichosz is related. His father name is Anton arrived in Winona,MN 1874. We had trouble finding out if Anton had brother and sister in Poland or his parents name. Albert had a son named Valentine. Maybe named after a relative not sure. Our biggest problem is tracking down information from Poland. Albert lived to be 96. Him and his family moved to Montana from Winona.
It would be wonderful trying to find more information and more cousins.
Mary Cichosz Wallace

You mention Valentine (Dick) Cichosz - a World War I vet. Did he have a grandfather or father named Valentine Cichosz born in Rudnick, Poland who died there at age 99? This would be my husband's great - grandfather. His son John Valtie Cichosz came to the US (Penn) in 1912 with his oldest child, Victoria. In 1913, his wife Rosalie Cwiklinska Cichosz came to the US with two more children, Domalnick and Carl. John Valtie Cichosz was born around 1872 in Rudnick, Poland area. Siblings unknown.
