Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello to everybody on the list, and Happy Birthday to those of you who were
born on the 23rd April all those years ago.
Ann and I are beginning to contact all those we know of that are on the
Internet inviting them to join.
We hope you will be encouraged to use it for social contact, making
statement of your feelings about world events, as well as a most useful
exchange of Genealogical interests and information.
Already positive links have been made between families in different
continents who had no prior knowledge of each other!
Variations in spelling of the family name that we are aware of at the moment
are: CIAPPESONI - CIAPPESSONI - CIAPESSONI - CIAPESONI and CHAPPESONI.
Families we are aware of are located in Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain,
Hungary, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, and the USA.
Languages used: Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and English.
We are looking for a way of providing translations of each email into those
languages. If any of you could help please contact us.
We are member #3570 of the Guild of One-Name Studies in the name of
Ciappesoni and it's variations, an organisation which was recognised
word-wide before the advent of the Internet.
Say "Hello" to all the members of the list by sending an email to
CIAPPESONI-L(a)rootsweb.com
You will get a copy of your own email come back to you because you are a
member of this world-wide list, and it proves to you that your message has
gone round the world already.
(The word "request" between the "L" and the "@" sign is only used when you
subscribe to or unsubscribe from the list.)
It will be helpful for you to use the "Subject" line to hint at the contents
of your email, and , if you are enquiring about a family name or person it
is <List> convention to put that in capital letters; CIAPESONI not
Ciapesoni.
We hope you will all find the list helpful and useful and fun to take part
in.
