oh yes bout carrie etta...i have her married to columbus on a few of the census in ouachitia county. she is the daughter of j m hodge. she and he r listed with my husbands grandfather. i also have seen a publshed marriage record on mircofilm..however they spelled it churchwill. i was interested in is there actually 2 cc and carrie ettas out there???
in fact cc's father was deff H churchill i suspect a typo on a census 1960 i have found a sister charlotte melinda churchwell who was on that census. i have absolute proof of them being my husbands direct line. u may want to take a gander at the census in ouachitia co on here. CC has also several brothers jeferson, or jeff is listed as well. and Charlette's daughter, luda ended up in oklahoma . However I have not seen any proff that my cc is christipher columbus only has gone by columbs but i do know he has gone by cc. Any of this ring a bell? ik sorry i thought u were the gentlemen that had the cc from ala whom i thought at first could be a link but ruled it out almost right away. i just thought perhaps u were indeed a possible realitive from alot of our info being so similiar. but i truely have the proof as well of the names i am giving and proof that my cc was an orpahn as of 2 or 3 and raised by archibald oglesby. but i can assure u this int from a memory i hav!
e proof as well

that is what is so interesting and yet so maddening about the internet used as a source. people put the best information that they have, and it does help in a lot of research, but unless they show documentation (birth, death, marriage certificates) you have to be open to the fact that a lot of your information will be just a little wrong in some places. Any information from people's memory will not be 100% accurate. Just keep an open mind, and gather as much information as possible and write down your sources....good luck

We do seem to have so crossing names. Maybe nothing, but never hurts to check...have found some of the famikly storys already to have been mixed up a bit. My husband's ggranfather was thought to be Chritipher columbus too, but see him listed as columbus only on census. Just thought I cover all angles...thank u christina churchwell

Sorry, my Churchwell family stayed in Georgia, moving from Twiggs County to Houston Co, to Pulaski. We are at a brick wall with John Churchwell of Twiggs who married Martha Halstead, he too died leaving young children. One of his sons ends up with her brother in Houston, CO and I am descended from him, Oliver Perry.
