I've connected Lorenzo to my family tree, believe it or not!
In the 1850 census for Ulster Co. Lorenzo is listed as the son of Benjamin Churchwell and Martha Berger. Benjamin in my 4G Uncle and Lorenzo is my first cousin 4 generations removed. I know from your post that Lorenzo had a son named Israel. I would love to know the rest of Lorenzo's descendents so I can add them to my tree. I hope you are willing to share what you have with me.

I am a descendant of James A. Churchwell and Emilene GRADY Blackburn CHURCHWELL and am still pursuing James's elusive parents. I am pursuing a theory and I'm hoping that someone can help.
I was in Arkansas doing some research this past summer. Since my gg-grandmother was first married to Ambrose Blackburn, I was reading some articles about the Blackburns in the Washington and Benton Counties where James lived with his first wife Susan Jane GREGG and later Emilene.
The article was listing the children of Josiah and Rachael BLACKBURN. My eye was certainly caught by the phrase:
William H. "Bill" Blackburn married Sue CHURCHWELL, a widow. Bill Blackburn was Ambrose Blackburn's uncle. That would make Sue about the right age to be James's mother.
James was born in TN in 1825. Bill and Sue had a child born in TN in 1836. This makes the possibility that Sue was James's mother very plausible. Sue could have been widowed between 1825 and 1836 and remarried. The article stated that the Blackburns lived in Maury County, TN, which is a county that Churchwells also lived in.
John Porter BLACKBURN who married Nancy CHURCHWELL was also a member of this same Blackburn family. John was the uncle of Bill Blackburn.
So we have John Porter Blackburn marrying Nancy CHURCHWELL. His nephew Bill Blackburn marrying Sue CHURCHWELL, a widow. Bill's nephew Ambrose Blackburn marrying Emilene GRADY and then James A. CHURCHWELL marrying Emilene GRADY Blackburn after she was widowed.
Bill and Sue and James A. and Emilene all lived in War Eagle, Benton Co., AR.
Another researcher states that James moved to AR in the mid-1840s. Bill and Sue had a child in TN in 1836 and a son in AR in 1840. Did James move to AR to be close to his mother since his father was dead? Possible in my mind.
Does anyone have any information on who this Sue Churchwell Blackburn was, who her Churchwell husband was, if she have a child around 1825, when she married Bill Blackburn, etc.?
Thanks for ANY information one way or another that anyone can give me.
