I've "rescued" two old photographs of Lura COLCORD which were taken at the
Ira S. Collins Studio in Freeport, Maine. The photographs were taken when
Lura was 2 years old and indicate that she was born August 31, 1882. Based
on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding
Lura and her family:
Lura M. COLCORD b. 31 Aug 1882 to parents John COLCORD and Lydia F.
CHURCHILL (b. 15 Mar 1851 in Parsonsfield, ME). Lura COLCORD died Jan 1976
in Gorham, ME.
Census records provide the following:
1900 census of Cornish, ME:
Lydia F. COLCORD, age 49, born Mar 1851, a widow, 1 child/1 living, born ME,
parents born ME
Lura M. COLCORD, dau, age 17, born Aug 1882, born ME, parents born ME, at
School
1910 census of Cornish, ME:
Lydia F. COLCORD, age 59, a widow, 1 child/1 living, born ME, parents born
ME, a Clothing Seamstress
Lura COLCORD, dau, age 26, born ME, parents born ME, a Common School Teacher
I am hoping to locate someone from Lura's family so that these wonderful old
photographs can be returned to the care of her family. If you are a member
of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
