Thanks Bill for this information, this is a great help, I am very interested
in this Sarah, as being a Jennings, as I am researching my Jennings
lineage, have them traced in the States, as being from N.Y., but cannot
find the European
link, knew a Jennings from my line was linked to the Royal Family,
and had probably married John Churchill, the Duke of Marlbrough,
from the
family of Sir Winston Churchill. Am also very interested in this
Churchill family lineage, since hopefully if this Sarah Jeninngs is in
my family line, then I have a connection to the Churchill family also.
Wonderful history you have here for her children, thanks this is great.
Also you mention several books about her and her family, would
you have the titles for these?
Also you mention a Colliton Churchill in England, is there a web-site
online for this.
I also found information that Sarah's parents were
Richard Jennings [or Jenyins] a Member of Parliment
& Frances Thornhurst.
Any further history for the family of this Sarah Jennings family would be of
great help.
Would love to "prove" this Sarah Jennings is from my English Jennings.
I have my Jennings as being in N.Y. in the early 1600's. But cannot
get past this "brick-wall"
Thanks so much Bill, your information is a great help,

Sorry, I have minimal information for Sarah in my database; however, I
have several books with information about she and her family.
Specifically what do you want to know?
I'd have to go back and look but as I recall she was a childhood
girlfriend of the Queen and a Lady of the Queen's bed chamber. That
meant that she was a walk-in at the Palace. (She didn't require an
invitation or permission to enter the Palace grounds or the buildings
proper.) She also didn't require an invitation or permission to enter
Public Offices and meet with Crown Officials. She could just show up
whenever she wanted something.
>From the database:
She was born in 1659
She married 19 Oct 1744 at Marlborough House
Died 19 Oct 1744 (but that may be a burial date since dates of death
were not recorded in that time. Having said that I believe she was
entombed, so 19 Oct 1744 may be her actual date of death from a tomb
inscription.) This information was supplied by a present day Colliton
Churchill in England and they usually have correct information about
their family.
Her children were:
Lady Henrietta CHURCHILL Duchess and 2nd Duke of Marlborough (by Special
Act of Parliament). My information is that she was born on 19 Jul 1681;
however, that may be her baptism date since civil registration in
England didn't come about until the 20th Century. The Church was
required to record and keep Baptism dates so most "birth" dates from
this period are actually Baptism dates. Her birth would have been 2 to
3 weeks before her Baptism.
Lady Anne CHURCHILL (born in 1684).
John CHURCHILL Marquis of Blandford was born in 1686. He died in 1703
in Cambridge, England.
Lady Elizabeth CHURCHILL Countess of Bridgewater (born in 1687).
Lady Mary CHURCHILL Duchess of Montagu (born in 1689).
Regards,
Bill Churchill
