Thanks, Winton,
It does look as if it could be what I mean by hooded eyelids. I
forwarded the URL to my niece to see what she thinks. What is your line?

Joann,
I also descend from John of Plymouth but through Eliezar2 the 2nd son
from a Nova Scotia line that returned to the US very late 19th Century.
I don't visualize "hooded eyes". You said you have a picture of Isaac.
Can you email Isaac's image?
My father and I were blond with blue eyes. My sister had brown hair.
My eldest uncle had essentially my father's facial features and physical
build but with darker hair.
The DNA project has a Joseph2 descendant of your line but I have no idea
what he looks like - I may be able to find out if it is of interest.
I believe eye colour and facial features come from our Autosomal DNA.
You get 50% of your Autosomal DNA from your mother and 50% from your
father. So in each generation a fractional percentage of your Autosomal
DNA from any particular ancestral line is lost to be replaced by DNA of
the most recent male and female lines - or something on that order.
Regards,
Bill Churchill

Subject: [CHURCHILL] Isaac CHURCHILL and Julia ARNOLD
My second great grandparents were Isaac Churchill and Julia Arnold. I
have a picture of my gggrandfather. He had what I call the "Churchill
eyes." My grandmother, his granddaughter, had them, my father had them,
I have them, one of my brothers has them, and my niece has them. They
are sort of hooded eyes.
Do any of the readers of this list have such eyes? I do not know if any
of my gggrandfather's ancestors had them, but assume they must have.
Isaac Churchill was born 19 Feb. 1787 in Woodstock, VT, and died there 7
Dec. 1870. He was married there 18 Oct. 1824 to Julia Arnold who was
born 12 Nov. 1797 in Mansfield, CT and died 18 Sept. 1879 in Woodstock,
VT. Isaac's parents were Joseph(5) Churchill who was born in Plymouth,
MA, and Sarah Cobb, born 20 Sept. 1747 in Middleboro, MA and died 27
Feb. 1836 in Stowe, VT. I believe she married again, but don't have it
written on the chart from which I am getting this info.
Anyway, I would like to find other people who might have such type of
eyes! Thanks for reading this.

hello
am hoping someone out there can help me, my ancestor THOMAS CHURCHILL born
about 1815 in Moreton in Marsh Gloucestershire England, on his marriage
certificate he claims THOMAS CHURCHILL a timber merchant was his father, I
have found a birth and baptism for a THOMAS CHURCHILL born in 1815 but
there is no father named, only a month ANN CHURCHILL. Am aware they lied on
certificates but he married 3 times and each time stated his father was
Thomas Churchill. On the 2nd marriage certificate it states his father is
dead, on the first no reference was made.
Is anyone out there related to Thomas, his son was JOSEPH EDWARD CHURCHILL
whose mother CATHERINE PERSHOUSE died when he 2 months old. THOMAS had other
children THOMAS WILLIAM LYDIA AND SARAH AND ELIZABETH they lived in sedgley
staffordshire area.
many thanks
susen
