To those (once) interested in a Churchill association.
I have had several exchanges with Anna LeBlanc who initially asked if
there were surname Churchill researchers interested in sharing
information. I mentioned that a year or two back there were discussions
of an association that went nowhere – except that several of us are now
working a common database project.
Anna is interested in sharing information about Churchill related
research, who is doing what and other happenings that might be of
interest to surname Churchill researchers. I mentioned that at one time
a periodic newsletter had been discussed but no one committed to
producing it. Anna says that she would be interested in producing such
a news letter (maybe monthly?) if others would contribute information on
their interests and their research.
Who is interested in participating?
Those interested in receiving such a newsletter, please reply to the
group – or to the List.
Bill Churchill
If Eliezer Churchill had married a Mary Doty in 1688 it would be
possible that they had 5 children since that is the number of children
Eliezer had after 1687. But, Thomas Faunce the Plymouth County Clerk in
the period was of the same generation as Eliezer and, I believe, would
have known about Eliezer's marital situation given they were indirectly
related through the Doty line. Thomas is the Clerk that made the
listing of Eliezer and Mary's children which has Eliezer with only one
wife.
I know about the Mary Doty who m. Samuel Hatch. They were married
between 10 Jul 1677 and 10 Nov 1678 (her mother's will/probate where she
was identified as unmarried and the birth of their first child). This
Mary was the youngest daughter of Edward and Faith (Clark) Doty.
I checked "Churchill Family in America" but did not find a Benjamin
Churchill who married a Mary Bryant. Who were the parents of this
Benjamin Churchill?
Bill

On FamilySearxh which I realize is full of errors it lists Eleaser
Churchill born 1652 married Mary Doty in 1688 and lists five children.
I desc from Mary Doty who m. Samuel Hatch. According to what has been
submitted Mary Bryant married Benjamin Churchill in 1676.
On Eleazer info it lists three marriages #1 Marel a bt 2700, Mary
Bryant 1684/85 and Mary Doty in 1687/88.
I am already a member of the Mayflower Society but thought I might have
some half cousins. Dorothy
