Hello Karen,
I was intrigued by this CHURCH family story, so used Google a bit more. I found another query that clearly is about the George Augustus Church you are seeking parents for -- and again says his father was George Washington Church, his mother was Carrie S. Miller and his wife was Myrtie Mae Shook: http://ksgenweb.com/montgome/q1999-2.html#CHURCH
It is from the Montgomery County GenWeb and contains a dramatic story about how George Washington Church disappeared. A different version than the one in the other query I sent to you.
Best wishes,
Barbara

Hello,
I just checked FamilySearch and found his marriage record but unfortunately it doesn't have either of their parents: https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/FW2R-D2G They were married on 21 May 1902 in Cherryvale, Montgomery, Kansas. George was 23, she was 17.
The 1900 Census has a Myrtie Mae Shook with her parents, living in in Drum Creek, Montgomery, Kansas - born Sep 1884. So Montgomery County is a key for her. George A Church is shown as a boarder in Cedar Vale, Chautauqua, Kansas in the 1900 Census. He was a life insurance agent whose father was born in Iowa, mother born in Indiana.
His World War I registration shows his middle name was Augustus, not Augusta. See:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/K66F-1JQ
and
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1971-26352-23565-29?cc=1968530
He was farming, self-employed, near Morehead, KS, wife was Myrtie, no place of birth.
Then I Googled his full name George Augustus Church -- and found what looks to be a match in the query found here: http://genforum.genealogy.com/church/messages/795.html
It mentions George Washington Church who married Carrie Cook and had one known son, George Augustus Church, born 1879 in Hewins, KS. This seems like a good match. The query also mentions that Carrie moved to Oklahoma and family lore says she is buried on Tulsa. That is also a match with your mention of George living some of his childhood in Oklahoma. There is a contact on the query but it is from 1999 so the email may not be working.
Further Google searching led me to an Ancestry.com public profile for George Augustus Church, shown as the son of George Washington Church and Caroline Sophia Miller [presumably Carrie]. SEE:

I am trying to locate information on George Augusta Church's parents. George was born in Feb. 1879 in Kansas, USA I believe and died in Kellogg, Iowa, USA in Oct 1965. His wife was Myrtie Mae Shook. I believe he spent most of his childhood in Kansas and Oklahoma. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
