I was born in Petersburgh (Troy) New York.my husband & I went there on our vacation this yr (Aug). So I did some research and visited with relatives and of course went to a few Cemeteries.
My grandparents were Samuel & Florence Church Stevens, after Sam passed she married Phil Elgeizer. So I'm a Stevens-Soule-Shaw-Church-Moon-Kipp-Hakes.

Thanks for getting back to me. Actually, I was able to track down her history a few weeks ago, found a website with some interesting links. She was part of this Church family, which came to Rensselaer County from Connecticut after the Revolution:

Explore the site, there's a lot of info on the Churches.
Mary Elizabeth's mother was born in County Tipperary in Ireland, and it looks like she came over with her parents during the famine. Her grandparents' tombstone is at the bottom:

Just did some cking for u on my Tree Mary Elisabeth Church-Grogan unfortunately passed away 24 Sept 1946.I have her headstone and her obit is dated 25 Sept 1946 in the Times Record. From the Obit it list her parents as Lemuel Church & Mary Cahill..Cahill sounds like an Irish name.
I would suggest you put all your clues together and choose the ones that make the most sense .At least until you find more info to help you. My Tree is Church/Stevens/Moon.
Good Luck Laurie Stevens Schoewe

Any researchers out there trying to link Richard Church of Lower Norfolk Co,, VA (1640's-1705) to the Church Family of Plymouth Mass. There seems to be a lot of speculation as to whether or not Richard Church & Elizabeth Warren had a son Richard.
My Y-DNA results show I'm a descendant of Richard Church of Plymouth. My paternal ancestors (Poyner) are from Lower Norfolk Co & Currituck County NC. The same locations as Richard of Lower Norfolk and his Descendants. They appear on a few of the same Tax & Jury lists. So it would seem an "event " occurred with my Poyner line and Richard of lower Norfolk Co.s, line. This would mean Richard of Lower Norfolk Co., is genetically related to Richard of Plymouth.
I would encourage any male Church's who are direct descendants of this Richard of Lower Norfolk Co., to take a Y-DNA test.
This seems like the perfect mystery for DNA to help solve.
Kind Regards,
Allen Poyner

How did Lesley (Leslie) Church die? Born April 1879, Carter KY. Died 11 August 1910 near or in Webbville, Lawrence County, KY. Have been unable to find a newspaper account of this young man's death, or a death record. He was a farm laborer by trade. Any comments are welcome. Thanks. J in Ohio
