This might be a long-shot but I might have a connection here. I'm researching my Church ancestors in Lancaster, Ohio, and one of them (Richard Church b. 1817 in PA or NJ) married Margaret Keck. I am convinced (but haven't proven yet) that my Richard Church is related to Isaac Church from PA/NJ who settled in Fairfield county ohio for awhile around 1816 and had several marriages and children. Is it possible that the middle name of your John Church, might be Keck, rather than Kake? I do know that my Maragaret Keck has a brother named Isaac Church Keck, and I found him in the 1850 census listed under the name "Cake" There are connections with these family, but It's been very confusing. Let me know if any of this sounds like your Church family.

Ross, please, please let me know if you find anything on the Indian line. have been trying to find this for years. My grandmother, Jessie Mae Passmore (daughter of Martha Ann Church) looked kind of Indian(high cheekbones, really dark eyes, olive skin, but not very dark) haven't been able to figure this out. Any help appreciated.

I think there is a chance her father was Benjamin Church born in the 1750's in NC and the son of Yankee JOhn Church. I believe Benjamin was the only son of Yankee JOhn that left NC and went to SC and then to Ga. Any help appreciated. Ross

Hi,
I was wondering if you may also have a Benjamin H. Church who married Elizabeth A. Fisher? Elizabeth A. Fisher is a part of my Todd/Fisher line and I'm trying to find info on her and Benjamin. Thank you.

Thanks, Randy. I believe that my Robert Church was probably from either Pennsylvania or Virginia. But I will keep an eye out for a possible connection to your Massachusetts line.

I have a Robert Church, who served in the Revolutionary War and later moved to Ohio, probably somewhere in (the large early) Jefferson County. His daughter, Susannah, born c. 1787 in Virginia, later married William Moore, b. Penn.; she died in 1852 in Mt. Vernon, Knox Co., Ohio.
Does anyone have more information on this Church family?

I have 8 children for Henry and Nancy (Goddard) Church but I only have one for William and Sally (Cohen) Church. I don't have any for James/Jimmy and Susannah (Helms) Church. I'd be happy to exchange what I do have. I haven't done too much on this family since I've used the "shotgun" method on surnames. Sorry.
