Son of Samuel R and Anna Church. He was found in the 1900 census Boone Co, IN with his parents and the 1910 census Boone Co, IN census with his Pittinger grandparents. He married Rose Ethel Powell in 2 Dec 1916 in Boone Co, IN. His WWI Draft Registration Card signed 5 Jun 1917 places him in Clinton Co, IN. The 1920 census Boone Co, IN finds Ethel Church and a son Robert b 20 Mar 1918 living with her parents and she is listed as a widow. The 1930 census Boone Co, IN finds Ethel Church, son Robert and daughter Rosemary b 15 May 1920 living with her mother in Boone Co, IN. Did Elza die sometime between Aug 1919 and Jan 1920 or was Ethel indeed divorced from Elza. Any help is appreciated.

Just for clarification, and to help others who are searching their Church lines, Frederic Edwin Church is not from the descendants of Richard Church of Plymouth, MA and his wife Elizabeth Warren (daughter of Richard Warren of the Mayflower Compact.) Frederic apparently descends from Richard Church of Hartford, CT.

Thank you SO very much. I was almost certain this was his line, but haven't had the time to really do the research! I see you found this through a line you were working on. I do so appreciate your sharing with me; now I can work on it without having to waste so much time. All best regards!
Leslie

I have found assertions that Frederic Edwin Church, famous painter, is descended from Richard Church.
For example, there's one a Web page about Ascenath Church Dickman (1796-1840) here:
ttp://www.concentric.net/~pvb/GEN/acdick.html
At the bottom of the page is this:
"NOTE: The notable painter of the Hudson River School, Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900) is the son of Joseph Church (1796-1876), and Eliza Janes. Joseph is directly descended from Richard Church* (1663-1730).
And here are posts that trace Frederic Edwin's Church line back to CALEB CHURCH (b. 7 Jan 1702/03 at Hartford; d. 31 May 1760 at Hartford):

and
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/CHURCH/1999-10/0940787931
And another post tracing him all the way to Richard Church

Hope this helps!

I am a descendant of Richard Church and have always wondered if the famous artist Federic Edwin is a descendant of Richard's family - anyone know? I have looked in many places but find no genealogy for Frederic Edwin, but perhaps I haven't looked hard enough! Thanks for any help, Leslie

Hi
I would be interesting in hearing from descendents of Maurice and Delia CHURCH of NSW, Australia.
Maurice and Delia had two children, Diana and Christopher. I believe Christopher died in 1960. They lived in the Sydney area of NSW.
I have an interest in finding Maurice's sister, Amelia. Amelia is my husband's grandmother. She may be alive although would be quite elderly (early 90s).
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Julie

Hi
I am searching for information on Amelia KILMARTIN nee CHURCH. I have her date of birth, marriage details, children names etc but what I am really looking for is information on her post 1949.
She left her husband and seemingly has not been seen or heard from since.
Amelia was born to Henry & Margaret CHURCH (nee EDWARDS)and she married in 1933. Had five children including twin girls. Her siblings are Maurice, Alice and Iris (all deceased). She was born and married in the Maitland area of NSW, Australia.
If Amelia is alive she would be in her early 90s.
Thank you.
