I am looking for the parents of Charles Church b.18 Aug 1762(census says in Mass- but everythin was Mass back then) married Dorcas Fisher 1794 in Georgetown Maine, married Rachel Magoun in 1815, died 4 Nov 1858 in Phillips, Maine. Pensioner of Rev. war and the following obituary which leads me to believe him a descendant of Benjamin Church (1640-1718:
NEHGS Register (13:86 Jan 1859) "Marriages and Deaths": "Church, Mr. Charles, Phillips, Me., Nov. 12th, ae. About 95; said to have been a descendant of Capt. Church of King Philip renown. He removed, about fifty years ago, from Pembroke, in this State, to the valley of the Sandy River, in Maine, which was then, for the most part, a dense wilderness.
I have been searching for his parents' names but have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

The will of Robert Church Sr. of Henderson County, Kentucky, dated 11 Feb 1826 and proved 21 April 1826, names a son Robert. My records show the younger Robert was born in 1805 (I don't know where I got that date from) which would make him the right age to father your Thomas Franklin Church.

Have you had any luck with this family yet? I have a copy of the will of Robert Church Sr. of Henderson County, Kentucky, dated 11 Feb 1826 and proved 21 Apr 1826. In the will he list sons Reuben and Samuel and daughter Elizabeth Moss[?] first, and then lists the following children together: Richard, Susanna, Mary, Robert, Elam, Masora, Edward, James and Ann. (I am a descendant of Richard.) There is also an appraisal and settlement of his estate.

I am looking for the same persons, or decendants. I have traced them up to 1930 sencus in Cook, Illinois, but after that no trace. I live in Mosjøen, Norway, the city where Henry was a consul to Norway for some years before he moved up north to Lofoten and later back to England.
Henry was one of our first free masons, and I search a picture of him. If interrested I can give you his "time in Norway"
Hope for an answer. Nils Erik Osterud/Chairman genealogyclub

Hello
Would you by any chance have a Jane Church born about 1809-1810 in your data base? I believe whe was the daughter of Benjamin Church who was born in the 1750's in Rowan co North Carolina and went to Wilkes co NC with his family as a boy. He went to SC and then to Habersham co Georgia by 1820 if not before. He was in Pendleton co SC in the 1810 census. He was in Campbell co Georgia in the 1830 Ga census. I think Jane eas his daughter. Benjamin Church was the son of Yankee John Church. Would you have any information about this Church line? Thanks, Ross
