Thank you for your responce. Your thoughts are charming. Young boy meets young girl and sweet music is created. But story tells otherwise. Henry J Church went to Norway to take care of an English saw-mill in Mosjøen around 1860. He allready had a wife,Mary Annie, who went with him. And so did to children, Henry Weeler and Carry Flora. They got one more son in Norway, Thorvald Fritjof(b 1871)and he was the one who went to America 1891.
During his time in Norway Henry also was English consul to Norway. After he went back to England some time in the 1890's I find no trace of him or his wife.
So I search for decendants from Thorvald Fritjof Church who might know anything.

I do not have any connection to your search for Thorvald other than I am also looking for Church family.
This is just an observation. My Church family were living in Rotherhithe, South London around 1860. Rotherhithe was a major ship building area and a busy port on the Thames very close to the centre of London. It was also a major centre for Norwegian sailors who brought timber from Norway and unloaded there at Surrey Docks. The area was called St Olaves after the Norwegian king. There are churches there today called St Olave and the Norwegian Sailors Mission is still there.
Could not your Henry have been a sailor from Rotherhithe who went to Norway, met a Norwegian lady and stayed.
Sounds possible to me.
What do you think?

Searching for decendants from Thorvald F Church, born 1871 in Norway. He was born in Vefsn, Norway, where I live but moved out in 1891. Thorvalds father, Henry, came from England about 1860, and later went to Vaagan in Lofoten and later went back home to England.
I wonder if mr. Robert C Church is one decendant, but I can't find his email. He has poste messages on Thorvald Chuch at another forum.
