Looking for info on Nora Church, born in Tennessee, who married James (Jim) W. Winters. They lived in Hunt County at one time, and possibly had ties to Nobility Texas.
Any info would be appreciated.

I was wondering if the Thomas b. 1740 ; buried in Williamson Co. TN, is the
son of the above Thomas Sr.
Thomas Jr. had these sons : John , Phillip , Arter Abram , Robert
Thanks ,

I have never seen any documentation or proof of "Yankee Johns" parents. There has been some speculation that John R. Church may have been his father, but there is equal speculation that he may have been descended from Richard Church of Norfolk County, Virginia. I would be much interested to contact anyone who can prove his parentage. That person would become an instant celebrity in the "Yankee John" descendents community.

Yankee John's parents were John R. and Anna Mary (Church). This is much documented by member of this family and the family tree can be found on roots web family trees at http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=kihush&id=I07975 in the family trees section of here (roots web). Cousin Jacquelyn Sorby has much information on this line and if you are in the area, you should plan to attend the Yankee John reunion. Great fun, great family and great food!

Frederick: If you want, I can send you what I have on a ged com. I do have Rhueben/Rueben's family line back to John Church in 1525, although not everything I have has a solid, black and white reference, but would certainly be a starting place. You may e-mail me at fishinfoolc(a)aol.com. Please put Timothy Church, father of Rueben in the subject line.
Which of Yankee John Church's children do you descend from? Thanks

Karen: Check out Avery Clarence Church, Sr. on the family trees section of rootsweb.com. Three people have submitted this line; I don't know how far back it goes, but may give you some information. I am also descended from Churchs of Wilkes and Ashe County. There is a reunion for Yankee John Church descendants each year, in August, in Jefferson, NC, in Ashe County. Let me know if you need further help.
