No, according to the family bible, she was Timothy's grand daughter in-law. She married Timothy's grandson Ben C. Church.

Hi
Thanks so much for the information. There is so little information about Benjamin church and his family I knew someone must have some information about him and his family. Do you remember if it listed Benjamin church's wife's name. No one seems to know. My ancestor was Jane Church who I believe was the daughter of Benjamin church. That would mean she would have been the sister of Timothy Church. I know Benjamin Church went to Spartanburg SC after he left Wilkes co NC andwas there is 1790 and 1800. Someone did find a record where a Benjamin and Jean Church signed a document or witnessed a deed in I believe about 1799. I do not know who Jean Church was. Benjamin Church was in Pendleton district SC in the 1810 census and was on the Franklin co Georgia tax list in 1818. Habersham co Ga was formed from Franklin co Ga about 1820 I believe and he was on the 1820 Habersham co Ga census. A benjamijn Church was listed in a tax sale in 1829 in either Fayette co or Carroll co ga. Those !
counties were in western Ga and had been indian lands until about 1821. Jane Church married Solomon Ray in 1829 in Henry co Ga which was near Fayette co ga. I am trying to prove Jane Church was Benjamin Church's daughter. There was a Gabrel or Gabriel Church listed with Benjamin Church in the 1829 tax sale. I assume that he was Benjamin Church's son. If you still have the bible would you mind sharing any information you think I would find interesting especially what his wife's name was. Someone emailed me and said they traveled with the Crane(Crain) family to Georgia. I don't know if that is true. Timothy Church and his descendants seem to have been fairly well documented but not Benjamin Church or his other children. I really appreciated your help. Jane Church who I believe was the daughter of Benjamin Church would have been born about 1807-1810. I really appreciate your help. Do you know anyone who would be an expert on the Benjamin Church family that might have some othe!
r information? Thanks,Ross

There is some info., one of the most unique being a declarations page from their original move into S.C. as to what they actually owned and brought with them. The info. also shows that Timothy and Benjamin were very young when they left N.C. Some being smudged and hard to read. But if memory serves it had quite a list of births and deaths written in the front and back. The bible is old and tattered, it also states that they had quite a large amount of property in Habersham county. And according to what I've found with the help of friends and family, he actually was the first "settler" in the area they lived.

There was a Jean Church that sold land in Wilkes co NC sometime between 1815-1826. There was also a Jean Church that witnessed a land transaction with a Benjamin Church in Spartanburg co SC in the late 1790's. I so not know if they were the same person. Would anyone know who Jean Church was. I am trying to find info about Benjamin Church who was the son of Yankee John Church from Wilkes co Ga. Benjamin Church was born in 1763 in Rowan co NC and went to Wilkes co NC with his family. He went to SC then to Georgia. Thanks

Hello
Thanks for the info. It seems that the Church family has been researched back to Timothy Church and his wife Mary McIntire who lived in Habersham co Ga. He was born in 1792 in SC I believe and was the son of Benjamin Church. did you ggggrandmother's bible say anything else about the Church family? My ancestor was Jane Church who was born 1807-1810. She married Solomon Ray in 1829 in Henry co Ga. I believe she was Benjamin Church's daughter but I am not for sure. That would mean she would have been Timothy Church's sister. Any info in your ggggrandmother's bible or any information you might have about the Church family would be greatly appreciated. I know Benjamin Church left NC and went to SC. I don't know if he married in Wilkes co NC and then went to SC or if he married in SC. I don't know who his wife was. I understand Benjamin Church was on the tax list for Franklin Co Ga in 1818 and when Habersham co Ga was formed he was then living in Habersham co Ga. He was listed in !
the 1820 Habersham co Ga census. Were there any other families listed in the bible or any other info that might help in researching the Church family. Thanks, Ross

Hello
You had asked about gabriel or Gabrel Church. I read that he worked for the railroad in fulton co Ga in the 1850's or 1860's. I can't remember when. Benjamin Church was listed in the 1830 Campbell co Ga census. Campbell co Ga became Fulton co Ga. Atlanta is located in Fulton co Ga. Thanks,Ross
