This is the same book I contacted the author about and he would not give me specifics. I don't want to buy a book if I can't find out in advance if it has any of the people I am interested in.

My husband had a gggrandfather Philip Church born abt 1812 in New York who married a Mary Johnson about 1825 in Burford Twp, Brant Co, Ontario, Canada. She was born in Canada. It is suspected that she is Native American. Some of their children are Seth b 1827 b 1829, Pamelia born Abt 1830, Charles born Jul 18324, Mary born abt 1836, Alanson b 26 Jan 1839, Norman b 1842, John H b 25 Sep 1848 in NY., William H. b abt 1846, and George Church b abt 1857. Does anyone know about this family? John H. Church married 5 Oct 1870 in Brant Co Ontario but worked for the railroad and his wife Sarah Malvina Carney lived in Charlotte, Eaton Co, Michigan and are buried there. I have been trying to find out who Philip Church's parents were.

I purchased "A Genealogy and History of the Church Family in America" compiled by Alice M. Church from Higginson Book Company, P. O. Box 778, Salem, Massachusetts 01970. They also had the book "Simeon Church of Chester Connecticut compiled by Charles Washburn Church. They are reprints, very well done.

I ordered mine from the Barnes & Noble bookstore. Please be advised that
there is no index. You have to look page by page to find a name. If I
could find an indexing program, I would index it myself.

Thanks for the reply. I do have Alice Church's book and since posting the question I have also gotten Lucius Boltwood's Genealogies of Hadley Families which corroborates that info. Thanks very much for your response.

There is reason to think that Richard Church came from Braintree, England. There are several Richard Churches named from that era in Essex historical documents. It also ties to Thomas Hooker, who led the party to Hartford and preached in Essex until forced to flee to Holland.

I think the American accounts are generally correct. I use Alice M. Church's geneology for the American line.
I can't help with the Church family, but I am looking for the parents of
Tacy/Tasy Jane Bull who married Moses Scott about 1794 and lived in Ferrisburg and
Starksboro VT, and one son was born in Monkton. Ruben Bull could very well be
related to Tacy Jane Bull.
I do know that there was a son of Gideon Bull who lived in this area at the
same time. This Bull family were Quakers who settled very early in Rhode
Island, and later generations went to settle in Dutchess Co. NY, and went to Canada
before and during the American Revolution. Timothy Bull (another part of the
same family) and descendants lived in Danby VT area and did not go to Canada.
If you come across Tacy Jane Bull while looking for Ruben I would appreciate
any information.
Karen, what years does the book cover? Are there any Keelings in the book?
They would be in Wilkes Co. in late 1700's and early 1800's. Thanks for
looking.
