Evidently this is a second wife who was born 1800-1810 whereas, he was born 1780-1790 according to this census.
I would surely appreciate learning more about this man!

I have found this Thomas Church on the 1840 census that I
would appreciate learning more. He's listed as between 50-60
years of age with 6 boys and 3 girls. He probably had other
children listed on the 1830 census somewhere. Can anyone
help me identify this man? who did he marry? where was he
in 1830? or the names of any of these children? Is he the
same Thomas on the Rutherford TN census in 1830? Please
help me if you can. Thank you.
specific dates and places would be helpful

The widow Elizabeth ?LONG? CHURCH (born: c1789 in North
Carolina & died: after the 1870 Cannon Co.,TN. Census) married on 24
SEP. 1842 in Cannon Co.,TN. to the widower Benjamin H. F.
PHILLIPS(c1778-1860's). Her first husband mayhave been either the Thomas
or Robert CHURCH listed on the 1830 Rutherford Co.,TN. Census?
John W. CHURCH married Margaret L. RAMSEY on 01 DEC. 1819 in
Rutherford Co.,TN. and they are listed on the 1830 Rutherford Co.,TN.
Census.
Thomas CHURCH is listed on the 1820 & 1830 Rutherford Co.,TN.
Census.
Robert CHURCH is listed on the 1830 Rutherford Co.,TN. Census.
Robert A. CHURCH(born: c1815 in N.C.) married Amanda M. BRYANT
on 03 MAR. 1835 in Rutherford Co.,TN. and they are listed on the 1840 &
1850 Rutherford Co.,TN. Census.
Rebecca I. CHURCH(born: c1824 in TN.) married 23 OCT. 1839 in
Rutherford Co.,TN. to Thomas HOGWOOD and they are listed on the 1840 &
1850 Census. She as a widow is listed on the 1870 Cannon Co.,TN. Census
& then on the 1880 Bowling Green,Warren Co.,KY. Census in which she
stated both her parents were born in N.C.
I personally believe that Elizabeth ?LONG? CHURCH PHILLIPS to
be the mother of Rebecca I. CHURCH HOGWOOD since she is listed in the
Household of Rebecca on the 1870 Census.
The name Robert seems to be used in the Rutherford & Cannon
Co.,TN. CHURCH & associated families which could be a key name for you
to check?
That is all I have on the CHURCH's and I hope it's helpful
to you.

We have REBECKAH \CHURCH\ b. 1879 with ancestors and no descendants. Is their a connection?
HEllo
In your email you mentioned Richard,Samuel,Samuel,Nethaniel and Timothy
Church. This is interesting because this is the first time I have seen a
reference to another Timothy Church. My ancestor was Yankee John Church who
lived in Wilkes co NC in the 1770's until he died probaly in the early
1800's. He had a son named Benjamin Church who went to SC then to Georgia by
1818. Benjamin Church had a son named Timothy Church born in the 1820's inn
Georgia. If the Timothy Church you made mention of was a different Timothy
Church than the Timothy Church born in the 1820's in Georgia then it was
probaly a family name and Yankee John Church was probaly related somehow to
the line of Church's you mentioned. Would you email me back at
rsmith6670(a)msn.com or on the Church mailing llist and let me know. This
could be the information I have been searching for in establishing who my
Church's descend from. I know there was a famous indian fighter named
Benjamin Church but he was not my ancestor but Yankee John Church named one
of his sons Benjamin. Any guidance you could give me would be appreiciated.
Thanks,Ross

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I know that all of Anjou's work is suspect. I guess my real question has to do with the line of Richard(1), Samuel(2), Samuel(3), Nathaniel(4), Timothy(5),etc. I know that Anjou did a genealogy for That line, but there seem to be adequate other references from the time that the family arrived in America (Judd's History of Hadley,Savage"s, Genealogical Dictionary of the First Settlers of New England, Showing, Three Generations of Those Who Came Before May, 1692, NEHGS documents, etc. I just wonder if they were adequate.

Rebecca Church and Benjamin Franklin Church were both born in TN
during the 1820s period. Both were found in Coffee Co. or one of the
neighboring counties in 1850, possibly in 1860 and later (Benjamin
Franklin Church's wife and children were there in 1870 and later, but he
died during the Civil War.
