Hi. I am looking for him or his family. (He would have been born probably between 1905 and 1926)
He was in the Army Airborne during WW2. He was in the 17th Airborne Division/139th Engineer Battalion at one time in his military career and possibly transferred to the 101st or the 82nd Airborne when the 17th was disbanded in 1945. He would have been in the Engineer Battalion, HQ & S or medical.
I am in the process of writing a book about the Battalion and would like to have him contact me. If he is no longer with us, I'd like the family to touch base with me to give me a summary of his life since the service. This also will be in the book.
I have also succeeded in getting these WW2 Heros to touch base again with their comrades after not seeing each other for almost 60 years. Their reunions have been wonderful.
This project is so important because 17 million personnel files were destroyed in the 1973 file in St. Louis MO. I want to make sure that these men will never be forgotten and will be put in the history books for generations to come!
Thank you for all leads to help me on this tribute to our WW2 Heros.
Sincerely,
Tammy Paynter
I will be out of the office starting 27.09.2004 and will not return until
05.10.2004.
I will respond to your message upon my return. Thank you.

Prominent in revolutionary politics in Massachusetts, 1770-1775; first Surgeon General of the Continental Army; in 1775 was an informer to General Gage about American intentions at Bunker Hill; in October 1775 was tried and found guilty of treason; in 1777 was allowed to go to the West Indies in exile, but was lost at sea.

Does anyone have a Church family in Middle TN during the early to
mid-1800s, particularly in Rutherford, Cannon, Coffee, or Bedford cos.?
Now, if you have said Church family in one of these counties, does one
of the families have children with the following names: Mary K., Jane,
Rebecca J., and Benjamin Franklin Church?
I am trying to prove/disprove that the above females and the male
were brother and sisters.

there seem to be so many Churches in Wellington during this period that I would suppose they are all related in some way.
I am looking for William Church (1819-ca.1885) who married Matilda Slater. Interestingly, on at least one census, I am told, his mother is listed as Letitia Church - perhaps the same Letitia you mention in your message..
William and Matilda also had a daughter and named her Letitia, born about 1854 (my relative). There are quite a few generational Letitias in Wellington County.

I have done more research on Henry Church. I know he returned to Canada from Maumee. He appears in the 1881 Census where he indicates he was born in the States. However since he as collecting a disability pension for a son that died in Andersonville in the Civil war I figure that might be the reason for the claim. The relative he leaves his kids with says he is from Canada. I know from an affadavit for the disability pension that he Henry was supposed to be in Canada (West Brome, county of Missisquoi) in 1836. However I have not found him in the 1831 or 1842 Census, yet figuring that I might be having trouble with county lines moving. I do find two John Church and one George Church in 1842 (he has children which would be the wrong George Church from the one I know). In 1831 I only find two John Churches (note different religions). And in 1825 I find two Henry and one Peter all too old to be the ones in my tree.

Hi Rod-
Just a reminder that there's another researcher looking for Churches in
Maumee. What have you got in the way of relatives for your folks? And
do you know where they came from before Ohio? Mine were from Hartford
CT and possibly upstate NY.

Looking for information related to Frank and Walter Church of New
London, Ct in the early 1900's. Frank was my father's father, but was
divorced from my grandmother when my dad was very young. I believe they
lived around Shaw Street. I think Walter was Frank's father.
My grandmother was Florence Benham Church Affeldt. My dad was Tracy B.
Church Affeldt.
My grandmother and my dad are both gone now. Would like to know
something about that side of the family. Not much was ever said, except
perhaps "That is Gr Gramma Church's recipe," or something related.
Thanks,
Connie Robinson

I am trying to find some info that will take my Father Inlaws family back past his grandfather.
This is what I have:

My father inlaw was born to Howard Lewis Church and his wife Grace Elizabeth Lawler/Church on 5/14/1937 in Columbus Ohio. His mother Grace died 6 days after his birth due to complications of child birth.
Howard Lewis Church was born in Ashtabula Co. Ohio to father Guy B. (may be Beckwith) Church and Mable W. Manchester/Church on September 15, 1908.
I show Howard had at least two sisters and according to his OBIT maybe 3. I show Mildred G. born est 11/6/1904, Alice Mary born 5/15/1907 all in Ashtabula Co.
1910 Census Record shows. Guy B. Church age 28, wife Mable W. 25, daughter Mildred G. 6, Alice M. 3, Howard L NR. All in Ashtabula Co. District 0027 Visit 0302.
Parents of Mable W. Manchester/Church was R. Manchester and Mary Norton.
Guy B. Church was born estimated 1882 in Ashtabula and died in Columbus Ohio sometime between 1946-1948. Mable W. Manchester/Church was born 11/6/1884 in Ashtabula and died approx 1945 in Columbus Ohio.
Guy B. Church later married a lady named Dora B. ?
If anyone has any info on this family or knows anything about previous generations prior to Guy B. Church PLEASE help me out. I will share any info I have in return.
