** Note: I am not related to this family and have no commercial interest in the photographs. Sometimes I run across items I think might be of interest to other researchers and post the information. **
Currently showing on eBay are several photographs identified as "CHURCH" family members. The photographs appear to have been taken in the late 1800's and the photographer locations marked on the photos are reported to be in Lebanon and Downs, Kansas.

I doubt this will help, but I am trying to find the parents of an Edward James Church(1820-1893) and his brother Thomas both living in Baltimore. Edward owned a lumber yard and Thomas was a butcher. They married sisters with the last name of Buckingham. I know a good bit on their down lines, but nothing of their parentage. There are other Churchs listed in the Baltimore City Directories, but I have yet to found a connection. An 1880 census record indicates that Edward's father was born in Virgina, but there is no consistancy to that recording.
I was also able to find marriage records in Baltimore at the LDS website for:
James CHURCH married Jane HALL 10 May 1810
Jane CHURCH married John CHURCH 9 Aug 1811
My great grandmother left papers stating that the Hall name was in this family line, so I would guess that the second marriage here is the parents of Edward and Thomas. And I would assume that John is marrying his brothers widow based on this information. The marriages of all four men were at the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Baltimore.
Here's hoping that any of these names ring a bell for someone.
On another note, I just did a search of the LDS site(familysearch.org) and found a Henry Church and Hannah Keine who list 8 kids, one was James being born in 1795. Both Virgina and West Virginia are listed as birth/death places.

Well, Aaron, we need to know when your GGrandmother Aletha Church Durby lived and where she lived - and - what was the first name of the Mr. Durby that she married??? and was Mr. Durby your GGrandfather? or her 2nd husband?? because if he was her 2nd husband, then Church would not be her maiden (birth) name and that would make a big difference in how people search for data about her.

Hello
I am still searching for any information I can find about Benjamin
Church, son of Yankee John Church. I did find a record from 1799 in
spartanburg SC where a Benjamin church and a Jean Church signed a document
as a witness. I read that Jane Andrews, second wife of Yankee John Church,
was naed Jane or Jean. Would you know Benjamin Church's wife's name.
Benjamin church seems to be the only child of Yankee John church that no one
seems to have much info about. I know he had son s Timothy and Gabriel B
Church. I went to the LDS Library and found a micro film titled "The
ancestors and descendants of Gabriel Be Church" and it mentioned Gabrilel B
Church was the son of Benjamin Church. I have ordered the micro film and
should receive it next week. Have you seen it? thanks, ross

Where in Cayuga County was Charles born? My CHURCHes came to Cayuga Cty in 1898 from Connecticut and Rhode Island. I have always wondered what brought them to Auburn, NY. Was it family? Work? I don't know. I do know that there were CHURCH families in and around Auburn, but I don't know the connection. These are my CHURCHes:
James Church
born: 1832-1835 supposedly in CT
married: Mary E. Dorrance in Sterling CT in 1857
divorced: Mary E. Dorrance Church in RI in 1873
died: Not positively sure
two children: Charles U. Church born 1859 in RI
John Herbert Church born 1861 in RI
Charles U. Church had a scandelous affair with Sarah F. Sturtevant and married her (while she was still married to Henry Sturtevant) and they lived in CT for a while and then moved to Auburn NY. Their children were:
George A. Sturtevant Church born 1877
Leonie Church born 1881 (?)
Alice C. Church born 1883 (?)
George A. S. Church enlisted with the 5th Cavalry and fought in the Phillipines 1899-1902, was honorably discharged. Lived in Auburn until 1911, I believe, and then was listed in the Auburn directory as "moving to S.America" and that is the last I have any information on him.
Leonie Church married Samuel Lindsey (who was boarding with their family). Leonie and Samuel moved to Rochester, NY where they lived until they both died. Leonie lived until 1964 (If I remember correctly)
Alice Church was just like her father and mother, enlisting in an adulterous affair with a married man, Theodore D. Stone. Theodore (Dick) Stone was married and his wife had just had their first child when he was caught having an affair with Alice, who was also pregnant with his child. Theodore's wife, Margaret Powers Stone, divorced Theodore and Theodore took Alice to Fort Erie, Canada to get married before their child was born. Alice and Theodore divorced in 1911, and then Alice married Henry Maguire. Alice and Henry moved to Rochester and lived with Leonie and Samuel.
John Herbert Church
born 1861
married: Lydia West of Providence Rhode Island
died: around the 1930's
children:
Avis Church
Edith Church
Herbert Manton Church b.1898 d. 1963
That's all I have off the top of my head for the CHURCH family. If any of this sounds familiar I would love to hear from you. I would also really appreciate any information you have on your CHURCH family from Cayuga Cty. Maybe there is a connection somewhere.

I am searching for any info on Archie M.Church born in Kansas about 1882.He married Selma(last name Nell,I think) who immigrated from Germany.Their 1st child was born in Canada on 9/9/13-Doris Adeline. They eventually went to Britton,Oklahoma where they had 3 more children. There children were Doris,Virginia,Dorothy, and John.Archie is on the 1920 census but not the 1930 so he must have died between 1922(last child born) and 1930.Selma is listed as head of household and a widow on the 1930 census.Any info would be appreciated.
