Ellen Church was born August 10, 1847 in Pennsylvania. Her parents were Robert Church and Mary Blackburn. She grew up in Crittenden County, Kentucky. Robert and Mary Church were both born in the United Kingdom. I am looking for her descendants.
Yup, same guy that was in Gloucester. Mary was given land by her uncle and that's when they moved to there from Attleboro. They were living outside of Chepatchet and he was actually working in a mill in Chepatchet. In the divorce papers, it was stated by witnesses that he was often times found in the village of Chepatchet, in a drunken stupor or passed out on his wagon. There have been rumors that there was some Native American blood through the Church line, but I haven't found anything to substantiate that.
Thanks for the look up on the census.
Leslie

Leslie- I don't find a James Church with the birthdate range you listed, closest is James G. Church b. april 1842 son of Albert Church and Amey Grinnell. Location of birth is not listed.
I do have James Church age 35 listed in the 1870 census of Gloucester Rhode Island, born in Connecticutt. His spouse is listed as Mary E. Church

Thanks for your post. Yes, after I made this posting I looked at some books at a library in another town and was able to make the connection from my Philip to Richard Church and Elizabeth Warren.

I have your Philip Church in a Family history. I see that your post is quite old, so I did not know if you found the info you needed. According to the "History of the Church Family" Which is a history of descendants of Richard Church , Albert M. Church b.1/9/1803 son of John who was son of Charles(5) , son of Charles(4), Son of Charles (3) son of Nathaniel (2) Who was son of Richard Church and Elizabeth Warren. The book has Philip listed as Philip S. B. married to Ellen Kenney. The S may be atypo as this is from the 1887 and I have found several misspellings.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply! You've sent some great data for us. As far as Christina - I'm not sure but I am going to forward what you sent to me to my aunt and cousin. Both are working the Church family history. In fact, my Cousin has been receiving a lot of information as of late. Her name is Sondra Farmer. Her email address is: sofarmer(a)comcast.net. I'm sure she would love to share what she's learned. Greg

Hello:
I am related to James Church through his first wife Rosanna Robbins. Rosanna is my great grandaunt.
By the way, is Emma Collins the sister of the Fred Collins who married Christina Anderson? If so, I am also related to Christina. I have some info on her family.
I really don't have much on the family of James Church and Rosanna Robbins, and I have not verified what I have. But I think that their son Jabel (named after his maternal great grandfather, Jabel Smith) died young.
Best Wishes,
Jay T Stokes

I am seeking information on Franklin Church, who was born in Coffee
Co., TN, ca 1860. He moved to TX after 1880, probably Parker Co., where
his brother, James Thomas F., had moved with his family shortly after
1880. According to a descendant of James Thomas F. Church, Franklin
moved to St. Louis, MO, and later returned to TX; then he left for NY,
never to be heard from again. Franklin's full name was possibly Benjamin
Franklin [his father's name also], and he could have been called Ben. He
was reportedly a barber by trade.

You don't know how you have helped me! I have been looking for that family for years in the 1900 census. I have a copy of a journal that Ida Youngs Westgate, Henrietta's other sister kept. In it she says that Pa Youngs is living with Rhetty again after Aunt Kate died. Thank you! To make a long story short, John H wife died in about 1864. He left his kids with other families near the wifes relations. He is a hard man to find.
Now, George and Henrietta had: Ida married Henry Hill in Kansas, Bertha married a Wheeler, Clyde married Edna Brown, and a boy, I think named Carl. Will have to recheck this. There may have been another daughter Emily Butler?
You can email me direct if you would like. Edgcomber(a)aol.com
Again, thanks for solving a mystery. Let me know what other questions you may have.

Yes, this is the same James Larson Church who married emma collins. myself, and several of my relatives are currently researching the Church line. We'd love to share what we have - DO YOU HAVE ANY INFO. Greg
My William Church died in Hartford, CT, in 1836, and so the Churches
disappeared from my ancestry when a daughter, Nancy, married my Bidwell
ancestor. As for an Ohio connection, another daughter, Jane, married Mr.
Hart and moved to Cinncinati, OH, then on to MO. A son William moved to
Missouri and was living there in 1874. That's all I can tell you. Dick B.

I am decended from Ebenezer and Sarah, via William, who moved to Meigs Co. OH and died shortly thereafter. I have Ebenezer's lineage back to John Church m Abigail Severance, late 1600s, (John "of Dover NH"). I've done quite a bit of research on William and Meigs Co OH, as my father was born there.
If you'd like my info on William, etc., feel free to email me at RChurch4(a)aol.com.

I found Clyde in the 1900 census. They were in Indian Territory township 27N, Range13E. Microfilm records Kansas,Okla., Cherokee Nation Okla. seriesT623, Microfilm1843, Book1, page 227. Henrietta's father John H Youngs, a widower, was also living with them. Geo.s parents were Joel R Church and Susan B Howe. Geo. had 3 children living with them in 1900. The oldest named Ida is not with them in 1900 so she may have married. She is listed in the 1880 census as being 3 years old and the only child listed. With the 1890 census missing it leaves a big gap in children. The 1900 census lists Henrietta as having had 8 children with 6 living. I have only found the names of 4.

Yes, my Clyde Church is the son of Geo. and Henrietta Youngs Church. He was born in Kansas. He had several brothers and sisters. His mother, Henrietta, was my ggmothers sister. I am trying to find more info on this family. Where did you find Clyde in 1900? Who were George Church's parents?

Just learned of Clyde Church this week in 1900 census. If it is the same one his parents are George and Henrietta Youngs Church. I would be interested in what info you have on the Church family. George Church was my GGF's brother. I have just recently found some Church relatives that gave me great info.
Thanks for your post about James Church, son of Ebenezer Church
and Sarah Winslow. I knew he was lost at sea but I did not have
his birth date, wife or child.
I am a descendant of James' and William's brother Jacob. I have
information on on several of Jacob's descendants.
All I have on William is his birth and death dates. I would love to
have more.
I have Ebenezer's and Sarah's parents but that is as far as I go in
that direction. I would love to share information with family
members. Tom Baird
