Hi Jan
If I contacted you recently I apologize. I have tried to contact so many researchers that I have lost track of who I have contacted and who I havn't. I had contacted you some time ago ab0out my ancestor Jane Church born 1807-1810 in Ga who married Solomon ray in Henry co Ga. I believe there is a good chance that her father was Benjamin church born in NC and went to SC then Franklin Co Ga(Habersham co Ga) where he is listed in the 1818 Habersham or Franklin co Ga tax rolls. I know he had two sons, Timothy and Gabriel< but no one seems to have the names of his daughters. You had mentioned you thought one of his daughters was named Jane. Were you able to find those names or would you know a Church researcher who might have a list of his daughters names. Also, would you know the name of Benjamin Church's wife? I know he is listed in the 1830 Campbell co Ga census but went back to Habersham co Ga. Thanks, Ross
Ross, go to google, then type in "Yankee John Church"
Lots of "stuff" there! If you can't find what you need, e-mail me at

Hi Jan
Thanks so much for the reply. Jane Church might have been from Habersham co Ga. I know she married Solomon Ray in Henry Co Ga in 1829 and I know she was born in 1807-1810 in Ga or NC. I am convinced there is a good chance she was related to Benjamin Church and Timothy Church somehow. Besides the names Silas Benjamin and John and Alexander she had a daughtr named Elizabeth and Lucinda and Frances. I know Lucinda(my ancestor) was a name found used in the naming pattern of the children of Yankee John Church. Thanks, Ross

Hi Jan
I had contacted you some time ago about Jane Church born 1807-1810 and you were nice enough to reply. I have searched six months now for the names of her parents and have not been able to find any information. I did notice a posting to a query about Benjamin Church from Habersham co Ga and there is mention of a John Church and an Alexander Church. Apparently Alexander P Church and John Church were the brothers of a Benjamin Church and they were apparently born in maybe the 1840's iln Habersham co Ga and although they were born much later thatn Jane Church the naming patter is the same as Jane Church and Solomon Ray who married in Henryc o Ga in 1829 named their childrem, their first son being named Silas Benjamin and then John and another son named John. Would you have anywhere in your records a Jane Church born 1807-1810 in Georgia or NC? Thanks, Ross

Hi Emily
I had contacted you some time ago about trying to find the parent's names of Jane Church born 1807-1810 in Georgia or NC. I have saearched six months but can not find any information until I just saw a reply you had made to a researcher. Jane Church married Solomon Ray in 1829 in Henry co Ga. They named their first son Silas Benjamin and their second son John and another son Alexander which is in keeping with the namein pattern you refer to in your reply in reference to Timothy Church and Benjamin Chuirch from Habersham co Ga. Would you know if they had a relative named Jane Church born 1807-1810? Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Ross

Hi Jane
Could you help me please? My ancestor was Jane Church born 1807-1810 in Georgia or NC. I can not find her parent's names or where they were from. They named their first son Silas Benjamin so I think maybe Jane Church was related to Benjamin Church from Habersham co Ga. Would you know if he had a relative named Jane Church born 1807-1810. They are my great-great grandparents.
Would appreciate any information you may have. Thanks.

I am trying to find any information on Robert & Mary Church. Their children that I know of were all baptised in Netteswell Parish Church in Essex and are as follows:
William baptised 1/1/1786
Catherine baptised 9/12/1787
Joseph baptised 18/4/1790
Ezra baptised 6/5/1791 (my line)
Ebeneezer baptised 7/7/1799
I have looked through the Nettesewell parish registers, and cannot find Robert and Mary's marriage, so assume they must have been married elsewhere, possibly close by in Essex or Hertfordshire. Any information on this would be much appreciated.

Adelia was my Great Grandmother. She was born in 1853 in the City of Seneca, New York to George L. and Fanny Church.
George was a Blacksmith. Adelia's siblings were Saron D., Helen I., and Charles M.
As an infant it was said she came to Clinton Iowa and then her family moved to Illinois. She married Edward Alonzo Armstrong in 1874 in Monmouth, Illinois.
Thereafter, Adelia and Edward lived in Polk County and Audubon Co. and Guthrie County Iowa where she had 7 children, 2 dying in infancy. She died in Oregon on May 1,1920.
Would like to know as much as possible about this Church line. Adelia and her parents George and Fanny. I have heard that Fanny may have had a sister named Helen who lived in the Michigan area but do not know their maiden names or anything else.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me. I would like to especially know more about George and Fanny and their other children. Thanks.

Did Viola later marry Jacob GIPE? I found a Jacob GIPE in the 1910 census with a wife named Viola. There were three Church children in the home, including a Mary, Anne, and Amos. They were living in Warren County. A Viola GIPE later died in Peoria, Illinois where an Amos Church is found in the 1920 census. If this is your group, I'd love to chat with you. This Jacob is from my line. Many mysteries I'm trying to sort out.
