I am interested as well since I am related to Asa Church.
I also have 2 Benjamin F. Churches. One born 5 Jan 1827, Clarkesville,
Habersham County, Ga. Died 10 May 1916 same place. The other was born 1864,
son of the one above. Born also in Habersham.Don't have the death date or
place for him .Do you?
If you are trying to connect one to the Civil War, think it would have to be
first one, as the second would be a bit young!
Do you have any other info on this line. Have back to Yankee John and his
father John R. Any notes or other info would be really appreciated. Am
willing to share. Bunnie bunnieg(a)hotamil.com

Hello
Could you help me please? My ancestor was Jane Church born 1807-1810 in
Georgia(I believe) but maybe NC. She married Solomon Ray in 1829 in Henry co
Ga. I can not find who her parents were or where they were from and there
were no Church familys in Henry co Ga in the 1820 or 1830 census. Would you
have a Jane Church in your records? I guess Jane might have been her middle
name. I don't know. They named their first child Elizabeth and their secomd
child Silas Benjamin and their third child John and their fourth child
Lucinda so I thought maybe Jane Church's father might have been named
Benjamin or Silas or John. Any help greatly appreciated. Their marriage
record on the internet says Lena Church but I ordered a copy and someone
misread the name and it is Jane. Thanks, Ross

I, too, am looking for a Samuel Church. He may have been originally from
Hartford CT; he may then have moved to Bennington NY (now VT), though this
is a guess on my part. There was a Judge Samuel Church from Hartford who
went to Bennington because of the Rev War and, evidently, stayed on, but I
don't know much more about him.
"My" Samuel had a daughter or granddaughter named Fannie Church, who was
born about 1807-1809, probably in Hartford, and he may have had other family
members who lived in northern OH and/or southern MI. Fannie and her family
did stop over in Bennington in 1834 to visit either with Samuel or with his
family. While she was there, she gave birth to her third son, whom she
named Samuel Church Hooker.
I'd appreciate any clues anyone has!
Maureen

Ross,
Have searched through my rare book on Capt. Samuel Church and find no one by the names you listed as a descendant of his. Since my line separates from his at that generation, (my ancestor being his younger brother) I don't remember those names in my personal tree. I am in the midst of an office move and reorganization at this time and have all my records stored for a while. However, I will keep your note on file and let you know if I come across anything that can help you. However, if you have not heard from in two weeks time, you can assume I haven't found any information. I do wish I could be more inspiring and helpful, but I wish you continued luck in your search.

I picked this off the Ontario list. Does anyone know which Church family
this is? Are they somehow related to Oliver and Margaret Church?

Franklin Church was born in Coffee Co., TN, ca 1859 to Benjamin
Franklin Church and Mary Caroline Thompson Church. He appears in the
1860, 1870, and 1880 censuses in Tennessee. After that, I cannot locate him.
One branch of the Church family (descendants of Franklin's brother,
James Thomas F. Church) say that he moved to Parker Co., TX, when James
moved his family there. Later Franklin moved to Missouri and then came
back to visit the family in TX. He left again, headed for New York. He
was a barber. The family never heard from him again.
If you know of a Franklin Church that might fit this description,
please contact me.
Benjamin Franklin Church was born in Tennessee ca 1828. In 1848 he
married Mary Caroline Thompson in Cannon Co., TN. In 1850 they were in
Rutherford Co., TN. In 1860 they were in Coffee Co., TN. By 1870
Franklin had disappeared from the census. Family members say he was
killed in a civil war battle in TN.
Surely someone out there can connect Benjamin Franklin Church to
parents and siblings.
What are these messages?? Is this genealogy?

I continue to seek more information on Benjamin Franklin CHURCH,
who was born in Tennessee ca 1828. He married Mary Caroline THOMPSON in
Cannon Co., TN, in 1848. They and their infant son, John Marion, were in
the 1850 census for Rutherford Co., TN. By 1860 the couple and their
sons were in Coffee Co., TN, where the family stayed for several years.
The other sons were William Isaac (b. 1852), James Thomas F. (b. 1856),
Franklin (b. ca 1860), and Calvin C. (b. 1862).
The last census in which Benjamin Franklin Church appeared with his
family was 1860. After that the family included only the wife and sons,
minus John Marion from 1870 forward, as he had moved from the family
home, eventually settling in Arkansas.
I am very interested in finding out the names of Benjamin
Franklin's parents and/or siblings, as well as those of Mary Caroline.
I am in contact with descendants of all the brothers except
Franklin. I would like to find out what became of him.

Prayer Request:
At a Prayer Meeting recently while praying for world affairs, one
of the prayer warriors mentioned the Lord waking him in the middle of the
night and telling him that if one million people would pray for Sadaam
Hussein to abdicate the presidency of Iraq, we would avoid war.
Those at the meeting promised to contact 10 believers to pray for
this and to ask each believer to ask 10 more believers to pray. Please
pass this on and with God's mercy, we will avoid such a conflict.
