Gosh, Dave, with 15 Harriet Churches in your database, might you have just

she m. Nathaniel Eggleston Hooker.
Thanks,

My Church family was in TN during the 1800s also. In 1848 Benjamin Franklin Church (b. ca 1828 TN) married Mary Caroline Thompson (b. ca 1830 TN)in Cannon Co., TN. They and their son John Marion (b. 1850 TN) were in Rutherford Co., TN in 1850, according to census records. By 1860 the family was living in Coffee Co., TN. Other children included William Isaac (b. ca 1852), James Thomas (b. ca 1855), Franklin (b. ca 1860), and Calvin C. (b. ca 1862). Later some of the family moved on to Marshall Co., TN.

I expect there's a connection but the Erastus, son of Samuel and Elizabeth, on whom I'm working ended up in Indiana with his parents and offspring by the 1830's. Have you checked the VT Historical Gazetteer? Seems to me I've seen info on this branch in there.

I have a good bit of info I'd be glad to share, covering back to 1734 & further. Some from US Census & some from the internet.
Mom is anxious to swap info too.Hope to hear from you soon.

I was surprised to see a reference to Albert and Minnie Irene Church when perusing the Church surname postings. When visiting an aunt in Georgia 10 years ago we visited a cemetary in Clarkesville where I saw my ggrandfathers' and ggrandmothers' headstones which are Albert and Minnie. Next to them is Albert's dads' gravestone identifying my gggrandfather as Alexander. Is there anybody that knows
who Alexander's father was? I have heard a reference to an Archie some ways back and my dad has said that my great aunt still living and who was with us when we visited the cemetary, said that a James Church emigrated from Belfast in the mid to late 17th century, possibly 1660s. Any info is valuable at least to the shores of Georgia.

I was very surprised to find a reference to Albert and Minnie Irene on this web site but perhaps it's worth a question. To those responding within the string associated with Timothy Church, does anybody know who Alexander Churches' parents were? My dad said that his aunt whom we also visited at that time says one James Church emigrated from Belfast to Georgia in the mid to late 17th century. Any info is valuable.
Hi Bill: Would you please check your book and see if there is anything on
George Church who went to Greene Co. Pa. probably 1770 or thereabouts. I am

Joel M. Church and Rhoda Payne Church were my gt. gt. gt. grandparents.
Before I started searching on the internet, I only
knew a little about my gt. gt. grandfather... based
on little bits of information from relatives and the
dates from the family bible:
Hugh Taylor married Mary Ellen Church on
1/6/1885. Hugh Taylor, born. 7/3/1860, in North Carolina -
died 6/1/1891
He and Mary Ellen Church had three daughters. The
eldest was my gt. grandmother, Margaret L.Taylor,
b.June 6, 1887 / d. 1-7-1970 m. Nov. 1907. Her other sisters were Mattie Alice Taylor and Jennie L. Taylor. All three sisters married "Greenes"
also.
Because Hugh died at age 31, of pneumonia and yellow
fever, his widow and three daughters went back to
live with her parents, Joel and Rhoda Payne Church. I heard they lived somewhere near Yellow Hill. Hugh was buried
at the Calloway Cemetary in Obids Community, Jefferson NC,
on highway 163 (unmarked grave).
No information was passed down to the grandchildren,
etc... about Hugh Taylor, and I'm finding it very difficult to find out what happened to Hugh's parents and siblings.
I have a basic "tree" of the children of Joel and Rhoda, and I don't see a William. However, I would also suggest that you look on MyFamily.com, under the Yankee John Church website. There is a ton of info there.
There's Church reunion scheduled on August 9 & 10th in Ashe Co. North Carolina. You can read more about it on the Church website.
