Looking for Fannie CHURCH, b. abt. 1806-07, reportedly in Hartford CT. Her father
or grandfather may have been named SAMUEL CHURCH, but I can find no records in
Connecticut to verify this.
She m. Nathaniel Eggleston HOOKER in Hartford, and the family moved to Lucas
County OH between 1834 and 1840. Fannie died September 1853. Fannie and
Nathaniel had six sons: William Wallace and Lemuel Harrison, both born in
Hartford, 1829 and 1832; Samuel Church, born 1834 in Bennington, New York; and
Nathaniel Eggleston II, Calvin, George and Edward Eggleston, all born in Lucas
County, OH between 1840 and 1848.
I'd appreciate any ideas Church researchers might have.

I have been looking for years for a great-uncle, Gordon S. CHURCH, who was
born in Shaftsbury, Bennington Co., Vermont in 1875. His parents were John
A. CHURCH and Alice May HARRIS. His brothers and sisters were William Henry,
Fanny M., Edward W., Montford C. and Harry Albert. Fanny died at the age of
16 in 1893. Their mother Alice died in 1894 and the father John died in 1884
and all are buried in the S. Shaftsbury Cemetery. The younger surviving
brothers were cared for by the HARRIS family, and then Gordon, William,
Montford, and Edward signed on to serve in the Spanish American War. After
the war, William, Montford, Edward and Harry, all came to Michigan and
settled here. Gordon was never heard from after the Spanish American War.
My grandfather, Harry, always wondered what happened to him. I would very
much like to find information on Gordon to close this family mystery. Anyone
out there who can connect??

Greetings all!
I am a new subscriber to the Church ML - so here is the research I've
been doing and wonder if it rings any bells out there. Would love to have the
blanks filled in - and find new relatives!
My sources have all been the MI Censuses:
John C. Church, b. 1827 in PA, m. Catharine ?, b. 1827 in PA
Children: George b. 1852
William b. 1855
Emma L. b. 1865
Nancy b. 1862
Mary b. 1868
Manda b. 1869
John was a farmer and moved from PA to Isabella County, MI.
William C. Marshall, b. 1865 m. Emma L. Church (see above) on November 4,
1883 in Coe Township, Isabella County, MI (have marriage certificate). Emma's
sister, Nancy, was her witness.
One child: Glenn Church Marshall, b. March 29, 1885 in Mt. Pleasant, MI
Sometime after Glenn Church Marshall was born - Emma divorced William (Will)
and took Glenn to Spokane, WA. Glenn eventually went to live in Rossland,
B.C., Canada married and had 7 children. He was my grandfather. Have the
history from then on.
Would like to know more about John C. Church and his wife Catharine. And what
happened to William C. Marshall after the divorce. Michigan is spotty on
availability of divorce and birth certificates for certain years. Have been
hitting a lot of brick walls. I hope SOMEONE out there knows this family!!!
Thanks! Nancy J. Nelson
My great grandfather, John Marion Church, was born in TN (as he put
it, "up around Nashville"), sometime between 1847 and 1853 - according
to his age as listed on various censuses, he was born either in 1847 or
in 1853. His father's name was Frank Church and his mother's maiden
name was Thompson. I have reason to believe that he had several
siblings, including brothers and sisters. He moved to Arkansas sometime
in the 1860s and lived there until his death in 1826.
If any of this information sound familiar to you, please contact me.
I am having a lot of trouble with this particular individual.
