Christine Chunn:
THANKS A LOT for your thorough reply. There is a lot of info in it to
digest, but I look forward to it.
I had been dating the birth of Sarah H Chunn to 1831 because the Simmons
book of 1860 Calloway Co Census lists her age as 28. I don't have the
actual census in front of me - could be a transcription mistake? Do you
find a documentation supporting an age of 18 at 1860 census?.
If 28 at 1860 Census - then born abt 1831.
If 35 at 1870 Census - then born abt 1834 (Calloway Co HH#208, Page 22
in Williams compilation) married to Wialliam Black (if I have the right
Sarah)
I am unable to find Sarah Chunn Black in the 1880 Census.
"Family Records of Calloway Co, KY . . . . " Thomas Bazzell FAmily,
Chapter 3, page 8, says,: "Nancy Bazzell (1815- ) m. 10July 1839
Calloway Co, KY by William M Wilson to Garet C Chun.
it then lists a daughter, Sarah H Chun (1832 - ). . Source is
listed as Family Bible of John and Delpha Rice Bazzell (Bozwell).
Have you been in contact with Ernie R Bailey at the Pogue Library in
Murray? He sent me some information on the Henry B Chunn, Jr. family
that is being prepared for publication in a Calloway Co book.
If you and he have not talked, I'm sure you would find it mutually
beneficial.
Meanwhile, I'll continue to try to uncover facts.
I'm unable to find any reference to these Chunns in the 1850 Censuses
either.

I have recently been told that my GG grandmother, Louisa F Chunn (c
1841 in Calloway Co, KY -1860's)
married my great great grandfather, Golden J Miller (Abt 1840 White
Co, TN - June 6, 1863 Canton, MS in Civil War) on Sept 29, 1859 in
Calloway Co, KY.
I had previously thought her name was CLINTON, but CHUNN makes more
sense because their son was raised by his "Grandmother Chunn." .
I believe that Louisa F Chunn was the daughter of my GGG grandparents:
Garret C Chunn (born 1810-1820 - died ?? probably in KY)
and Nancy Bazzell (born between 1820-1825 KY? - died after 1880)
Garrett and Nancy were married in Calloway Co, KY on Sept 29, 1839.
Nancy also raised a daughter, Sarah H Chunn (1831-1900) was probably
Garrett's daughter from a prior marriage.
I believe that Garret Chunn might possibly be a son or relative of Henry
Chunn, Sr (1794 NC - 1834) and Hannah Garrett (1791 NC - 1872). I have
the names of 9 children of this couple and would like someone to provide
proof to me that Garret C Chunn was also a son of this couple. Other
known children are:
Ann Chunn
Cain Chunn
Patsy Chunn
Hezekiah Chunn (born 1810)
Sarah "Sallie" Chunn (born 1811) Married Joel Shires
Emily Chunn (Nov 14, 1812)
Henry B Chunn, Jr (born May 27, 1823) Married Obediance Shires in Maury
Co, TN
John Thomas Chunn (born 1825)
Can anyone provide more information about any of the above CHUNNs?
