Hello,
I have been looking for some years now for Laura Belle
Chunn-Bayless. Laura was said to be born in Adams County, Ohio. She moved to
Lewis County, Kentucky as she appears on the 1870 census. She is listed as
19 years old at that time and would become my ggrandmother after marrying
John Henry Bayless in the 1870s. I would appreciate any information anyone
may have.
Thank you,
Ron Bayless

Dear Friends and Family,
Once again in America it is time to celebrate "Thanksgiving". A day to share
our bounty with family, friends, and strangers alike. It is also a day to
reflect on our many abundances as well as the freedoms we enjoy.
As always each of you and your families will be one of the many gifts we are
thankful for.
Wherever you be, from our small home to yours,
~~ Happy Thanksgiving! ~~
Thanks for sharing...Interesting!!! Hey we may all have a harlot or two
in our families.!! LOL ....You have a VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY, too.!! GOD
BLESS, Judith
Hi ya'll. Just a note of interest that I found. Not sure if you all have
seen or not.
On the 1860 census for Dist#25 Maury County, Tennessee, I find Hannah Chunn
age 65 with three children living with her: Henry Y. Chunn age 12; Louisa A.
age 9; and Hannah F. age 8.
It finally hit me who these children are: Neely Chunn's children by his
first wife Catharine Jackson.
His second wife divorced him (Olive Frances Smith) and then he is off in
Georgia and married Rebecca Rowland on May 3 1860. And then has a child
with her, Cora b. 1870 according to the 1880 census. Rebecca is indexed
as Churn. But clearly a typo and is CHUNN. Am still looking for other
children & what happened to them. I have Henry T. married to O. J. Jones in
1865. But do not know about the other girls. I have a Hannah show up in
Maury County, but she is listed as a CHAN. I truly hope it is not our
Hannah as her occupation was "harlot". Interesting huh!
Just thought I would share. Take care all. Wishing you a Happy
Thanksgiving if I don't hear back from anyone.
Christine
