Hey all:
In my diggings in the new library here in Memphis, TN, I found the following
court document.
Thought I would pass it along and share. Hope it helps someone. It makes
great reading.Charles
County Court Records 1758-1759. Page 33 (in book)
March Court Page 78: .....John Urquhart vs Will. Brown, admr of John Chunn.
William Brown, late of CC, planter, admr of the estate of John Chunn, late

Urquhart 6 L 11 shillings for divers articles properly charged,
Page 79. and promised to pay the same to sd John Urquhart, but neither John
Chunn nor William Brown paid back the same. Therefore suit is brought.

Page 80. then until next Nov court, then until next Mar Court, at which
Court, come here the parties afd by their attys afd, and the sd William, in
his proper person, says that he cannot deny the action afd of him, the sd
John, nor but that he owes to the sd John Urquart, the afd sum of 6 L 11
shillings, whereupon the sd John, by his atty afd, prays judgment of those
damages so acknowledged, together with the costs and charges by him about
his suit in this part laid out and expended. Ordered that the sd John do
recover against the sd William his damages afd to 6 L 11 shillings, and 6

~~Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation!~~
Interesting tidbit found in research:
Maury County Tennessee Chancery Court Records 1810-1860 Volume I page 123 (publish book page):
CHUNN, N vs CHUNN O.F., 1855
Neely Chunn states that on 30 Dec, 1853 he married Olive Frances Smith in Marshall County...till March 1 last she left and returned to residence of her father Joshua Smith in Maury...orator was a widower with 3 children...she tried to get him to send children away...she did poison 18 hogs, a cow & calf and a horse of his... since marriage has heard she had not been chaste...had been guilty...James Clark of Maury...wants divorce, filed 4 Aug, 1855.
Answer of Olive Frances Chunn: all false..."she was pure in person when she intermarried with compalinant...
he was violent...if she did not leave he would kill her..." Complainant dropped suit.
Also if someone could let me know who belongs to whom??????
THANKS!!!
Christine

I'm curious, I see that John T. Chunn was married twice. Can anyone tell me who his first wife was, and who the children from the first marriage are? I understand there are 3 boys and 2 daughters. His bio indicates that the boys all became river-men. Can anyone help me out??
Thank you,
Trina
