Hi Dianne ... YES! I do know ALL about this. THIS is our Nancy CHUNN that
causes us such heartache! Maybe she went off with your family? LOL! She's
the very one that keeps me going ... driving me deeper and deeper into
insanity! Can you imagine? 21 sons in 27 years of marriage! That's gotta'
be a record! And, supposed to be all single births! Guess we don't need any
death certificate to figure out what her 'Cause of Death' was, do we? <grin>
Thanks for keeping me in mind. According to what All of us descendants have
been told and have found, [which is very little], this is the Nancy [CHUNN]
KILLEBREW that was of Native American heritage, which only adds more mystery
to our search! If you [or any other researchers] want to see, I have a
picture of her posted at:
http://www.geocities.com/nativenana/Gen_NancyCHUNN.html
The son, "Bink" is mine and John Graves direct ancestor, John Rasmas.
The son, "Lige" is Bevy's direct ancestor, Elijah Asa Green. The son, "Tom"
is Jennifer's hubby, Larry's direct ancestor, Thomas Bailey. And the son,
"Jasper" was the nickname of the first son, William Joseph ... no descendants
that I am aware of on our mail list.
Thanks again, Dianne! Hugs, Nancy Sue

Hello Ya'll,
As everyone knows I have been trying to locate or create a timeline of
American history and world history that would allow me to see what was going
on in the world at/about the time my ancestors were born, living and dying. I
just needed to have some idea of what was going on around them to have some
perspective. I have been working on making my own timeline, and ran across
this one ... it is a pretty amazing site, with lots of information. I have
found that some areas of the American History are lacking, but all in all,
who am I to complain?

Hope it is helpful to you as well!

http://www.historicaloregon.org/ This is a new site that has been
started by a group called Historical Oregon Information Services. It is a
non-profit group to help individuals and groups access information about
Oregon and it's history. Our site includes free services such as
"look-ups" on Oregon, newsletter and a guest book. We also have books at low
prices covering Oregon cemeteries, Oregon towns and World War II. At
Historical Oregon Information Services we hope that this may be of some
use to members of your group.
Our "Look-Ups" on Oregon page covers towns, rail stops, ferries, stage
stops, hard rock mines and schools as well as other types of places in the
state of Oregon. In the future we will have cemeteries also listed. In most
cases we have included any of the above listed items that pertain to the
location name. This, however, is an ongoing project and updating our files
is being done constantly. Under the name of the location, in most cases, we
have the county in which it is located, Post office, Rail Road, location and
any pertinent information regarding the location name.
Our newsletter is sent out bi-weekly and has information pertaining to
Oregon and its history. In the newsletter we cover such things as name
changes, multiple places with the same name, postal changes, new links,
information about a place and other pertinent information about groups and
their activities.
We have link pages on genealogy and Oregon history. These links are
listed in alphabetical order under appropriate headings. There are pages for
genealogy and Oregon history with more headings to come in the future.
At Historical Oregon Information Services we would also like to include
any information regarding web pages, meetings and e-mail services pertaining
to your group. We would be happy to include any of this information in our
newsletter and or link pages for anyone that is interested.
Thank you for your valuable time. We hope that this site can be of some
benefit to you and or your group members in the event that any questions
about Oregon arise. We hope to hear from you or anyone in your group, if you
have any need for information on Oregon, in the future. Thanks again.

Wish to contact those doing research on English Chunn's. I have a data base
of several thousand English Chunn's with their families (some without).
Trying to fill in the gaps. The Chunn's lived mainly in Wiltshire,
Berkshire, Middlesex and London. Willing to share.
Note: On the Mormon IGI the spelling variations of CHUNN are not grouped
together, so one must look up the Shunn's, Shuan's, Shone separately. I
have not found that the Chune's are related. Has anyone else found a
connection?

HI,
If Neely lost his first wife
he could have married Rebecca in 1860
as indicated by the Troup County, GA marriage record
I need to find them in a census to be sure.
take care, Debbie
Debbie,
Well, I have a couple of notes and a Neely CHUNN in the Henry CHUNN
and Hannah GARRETT family, but I don't think this is who you are looking for
because you said that he [William] was born in 1840 ... but, I'll give you
this one anyway ...
First, I do have a note that R. A. CHUNN, widow of Neely CHUNN was
located in Atlanta, GA in 1890, so apparently Neely was dead before 1890.
The only Neely CHUNN I have in my database is the son of Henry.
Here's the info on that branch: [Neely is near the bottom]

Is this William to early for the one you are looking for?
too early
he was born in 1840
I was hoping to look at the 1850 census on ancestry but, it isn't working for
me
not last night or this morning
I ordered death certificates today for Rebecca and Wiley
take care, Debbie
Deb, what time frame are you looking for William Chunn? I do know that in the 1830 TN Census for Maury Co, there is a William Chunn. At that time, they didn't list the wife's or the children's names.
Is this William to early for the one you are looking for?
Happy hunting :o)

Rebecca ROWLAND married Neely CHUNN In 1860 in Troup Co, GA
she is buried (died in 1930) hear her parents in Troup Co, GA 1841-1930
I found a Mattie CHUNN with William CHUNN in the Bartow Co, GA census
both women born about the time about 1841
both women married about the same time 1860
in the Morman's 1880 census index I found a Wiley (common ROWLAND family
name) CHUNN living with James ROWLAND family
Wiley's father was born in TN (from census)
William CHUNN was born in TN (from census)
checked the GA death index online on ancestry
found Rebecca & a William CHUNN died in Fulton Co, GA
didn't find a Mattie or William dying in Bartow Co, GA
I had assumed that maybe William & Neely were the same person
got an e-mail from someone over the weekend stating that William & spouse
never left Bartow Co, GA
I have checked the 1880 Morman index and have found no CHUNN's in Fulton Co.
Wiley CHUNN and his wife lived and died in Gwinnette (sp?) Co
I have tried everything I can think of to find them in the 1880 index
the name must have been mispelled badly
I couldn't find them
take care, Debbie

Hi Debbie,
Can you give us any more information on the man you're looking for?
Wife? Children? Parents? Time frame? Any information at all other than the
name William?
Trying to help,
Nancy
To all,
Does anyone know who the siblings of William CHUNN of Bartow Co, GA were?
I got a message earlier tonight and Willliam CHUNN may not be the man I'm
looking for but, the CHUNN I'm looking for was born in TN as William was.
If anyone has any ideas, please e-mail me
thanks, Debbie
To all,
I have been doing a bit more checking today and it seems that William &
Mattie/ Rebecca CHUNN moved from Bartow Co, GA to Fulton County, GA before
they died.
I'm getting clues from the Georgia death index
take care, Debbie
