Hello Helen,
Your offer of help is very kind. I haven't had more than a cursory glance through the IGI at present - I shall remedy that now. Since my last posting, I've discovered that Margaret Chunn HAINES married Henry BOOKER on 6th April, 1812 at Denchworth, Berks, while her brother Thomas HAINES married Elizabeth BOOKER on 22nd July, 1811 at East Challow, Berks - a case of brother and sister marrying brother and sister!
The only CHUNN link I've encountered to date is a Margaret CHUNN born about 1750 at Wantage, who married a William PAIN in 1771 at Wantage - no obvious link with the HAINES family, though, as far as I can see.
Any help you can give will be gratefully received!
Best wishes,
Sue

I have a worldwide collection of Chunns. However, I have none connected to a Haines or Greenaway. This means I just haven't found them yet. I will keep looking for the connection. Chunn is a more Wiltshire and London name than Berkshire, although my line goes back to Wantage in the 1500's.
Have you checked the latest IGI on familysearch.org? This is updated weekly.
Let us correspond a little and see what we can turn up.

Again sorry Stacie, Martha Jane's last name was Johnston.

Sorry Stacie, but our Joseph H was married to a Martha Jane Johnson. His first wife was Allice Evans.

Working on our family tree, I have discovered a Margaret Chunn HAINS or HAINES, born 4th March 1791 at Wantage, Berkshire, England. She was the daughter of Thomas HAINS (or HAINES) and Martha GREENAWAY, who married on 17th October 1790 at Wantage.
We are working on the assumption that the name CHUNN was added as a second name because of CHUNN ancestry in a prior generation. Does anyone know of a link between CHUNN and HAINES, or CHUNN and GREENAWAY, probably in Wantage or close by?
Many thanks,
Sue
