Stacie,
Do you have any other information on Nancy ? CHUNN? There are many of us
looking for the family of Nancy Ann CHUNN who married William Henry
KILLEBREW. Our Nancy was born 30 Sept, 1816 in North Carolina. She and
William married 5 Dec 1836 but I don't know where. William was born in
Maury Co. TN 12 May 1818. Do you have a marriage date for your William
and Nancy or could they have had a daughter in 1818 by the name of
Nancy? When and where was Robert (RJM) born ? If your Nancy and mine are
the same this could be a big hole in out brick wall. Even though you
don't have her maiden name we would be able to change our line of
thinking if CHUNN was a married name. ANY information would be greatly
appreciated.

I am doing research on the CHUNN family in MS. My grandfather was James Fletcher CHUNN, son of William Robert CHUNN, son of Robert (RJM) CHUNN, son of William CHUNN from Maury Co. TN. This is where I hit a dead end!! I know he was born in 1806 and married a Nancy (last name unknown) Any help would be appreciated. I will gladly share the CHUNN information that I have already .... Thanks

In 1881, my Aunt LeNora Johnson was born on the "old Chunn place" , near
Wimberly, Hays County, Texas. She lived next door to the Tilley's. I have been
trying to find out more about the exact location of these two properties. My
search has been unsuccessful so far. I guess that the Texas Land Office would
be my best resource. I see you are in Austin, which is near Wimberly. Were your
CHUNN's in the Austin area in 1881?

Hi Christine!
Hi Bill!
I'm very glad to see some activity on our CHUNN mail list. We have had
a little bit of action on this list, but not as much as I would like to see.
I'm glad to see some new posts.
Christine, I have a book on the CHUNN history in America, but not much
of anything dating back to other countries. My book starts with a John CHUNN
who supposedly came to America from England, and tells briefly of CHUN Castle
near Penzance, in Cornwall, England.
John supposedly emigrated to the Province of Maryland where he had a
patent for 50 acres of land. One researcher found that a John CHUNN was
recorded in the Berkshire Parish Register, England, as having married
Margaret TUBB about 1667. Speculation is that this John CHUNN and wife
Margaret TUBB CHUNN were our first ancestors in America.
I would be glad to share whatever information I can with you and would
love to know what you might be able to add or correct.
My book shows that John CHUNN had at least five sons: John CHUNN, Jr.,
Joseph CHUNN, Benjamin CHUNN, Andrew CHUNN, and Samuel CHUNN. I believe that
I am descended from Benjamin, though I haven't been able to prove that yet.
My 3rd. Gr-Grandmother was Nancy A. CHUN (or CHUNN) who married William
Henry KILLEBREW in 1836 at the age of 20 years. Together they had 21 sons,
nine or ten of which we have been able to find information on. Nancy died in
1863 at the age of 47 years ... I think it's pretty much a "No Brainer" as to
what her probable cause of death was, don't you? [To many pregnancies would
be my guess!]
Legend has it that my Nancy was a full blooded Cherokee Indian, though
I have not been able to prove that either. It would seem improbable that she
was full blooded Native American if she is indeed descended from the CHUNN
families of England, but ... who knows if this is true or how this came
about? <smile>
Anyway, I would love to hear more from both you and Bill about how your
lineage branches down the mystery of the CHUNN family trees. It would be
very much appreciated if both of you would send us a copy of your lineage and
maybe we can all help each other connect. [There are others on this list,
believe it or not ... LOL]
Hope to hear from you soon,
Nancy Sue

haven't followed the families to Alabama or Texas, but I have most of the
other lines covered.

Hi Christine!
Hi Bill!
I'm very glad to see some activity on our CHUNN mail list. We have
had a little bit of action on this list, but not as much as I would like to
see. I'm glad to see some new posts.

Legend has it that my Nancy was a full blooded Cherokee Indian,

Anyway, I would love to hear more from both you and Bill about how
your lineage branches down the mystery of the CHUNN family trees. It would
be very much appreciated if both of you would send us a copy of your
lineage
and maybe we can all help each other connect. [There are others on this
list, believe it or not ... LOL]
Hope to hear from you soon,

Nancy, I am afraid that I am just a voyeur of sorts on this list. I have no
connection to Chunn lineage. Then why am I here , you ask? I subscribed long
enough to see if I could find any information on a CHUNN family from HAYS COUNTY,
TEXAS prior to 1880. My grandparents reportedly lived on "the old Chunn place" in
1880. Sorry I can't contribute anything on the CHUNN family.

Christine, You are the first person I have seen post anything to the list
since I subscribed to it a short while back. I cannot help you with your
research but I hope your inquiry stirs some interest in the CHUNN list . Good
Luck

Dear All
I am researching a SHUNN or CHUNN family from Wiltshire in the UK.
I have a limited tree back to the early 1700's although much needs
substantiation.
Can anyone help or put me in touch with others who have an interest in the
area.
Regards

I am looking for the exact location of the old CHUNN place near WIMBERLY
or SAN MARCOS in HAYS COUNTY TEXAS around 1880. My grandfather rented
this place and I would very much like to locate a family grave there.
