Hey, haven't heard from you in a LONG time.
I've made many trips to Virginia in the last two years. I've gone to the archives in Richmond; Library at Wm. and Mary College; Suffolk County and Norfolk County.
David O'Sheal lived in Suffolk. The Pugh family did also. Now, here's the "kicker."
I believe there is absolutely NO connection between the Pugh family and the O'Sheal family.
I found out a crazy man in Arkansas made up the story, and it's too long of a story to type.
So, don't waste your time on O'Sheal and Pugh.
But, if you find anything on O'Sheal, let me know.
I have two websites.
www.relativeswamp.com (This has O'Sheal info.)
www.ancestorswamp.com (This has Chumley, O'Sheal, and other families.)

Well for the benefit of others reading this info: Abraham Lincoln Stalcup was always a coal miner vs. farmer. The last 14 years of his life was spent in the mental institution in Knoxville, which is where his wife placed him. He's buried on the grounds because his wife did not claim his body upon death. I'll stop here otherwise I'll be here all day.

OK. And you probably know the following, but for our other readers out there:
We are dealing with Alexander Hamilton Davidson and Abraham Lincoln Stalcup, mentioned in the previous postings.
And, from Alice on the FamilyTree.com FaceBook webpage:
Abraham Lincoln Stalcup - Born May 1863 in Tennessee. Abraham Lincoln Stalcup was a coal miner and later a farmer. He married Mary Josephine Reed Davidson (born Nov. 1859 in TN) on Nov. 2,1885 in Kingston, Roane Co., Tennessee. Abraham an...d Mary had about 9 children plus her son from a previous marriage. They had lived in Roane Co., TN; in Anderson Co., TN,; Whitney, KY; and in 1920 both Abraham and Mary lived in West Virginia. By April 1930 - A. L. Stalcup was in the Eastern State Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. Abraham Lincoln Stalcup Died Oct. 30, 1934 in Eastern State Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee at the hospital. He was buried in an unmarked grave in the hospital cemetery located on Lyons View Drive on Nov. 1, 1934. The hospital is now known as Lakeshore Mental Health Institute. No listing located yet on Mary Stalcup after 1920.
These names ring-a-bell with me, from my Roane Co., Tn research of the Chumleys there, but I can not locate any notes regarding same.

My great grandmother was married to a Chumley at the time of her death. She died July 28, 1945 in Ages, Harlan County, KY. It is my understanding she died in a nursing home in Ages, but her usual place of residence was in Teetersville, Harlan Co., KY. Her death certificate is under the name of Chumley. However, it lists her as a widow, but no first name for spouse. Also, no location of her burial is included. This was possibly her 4th or 5th marriage. Her full name is: Mary Josephine Reed Davidson Stalcup Dixon Chumley. Not sure if there was anyone between Dixon and Chumley. If anyone has any info about her or her husbands, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Melissa Allen
