There is a family tree posted on Rootsweb with the family of James Roy Chumley, born April 3, 1893 to Lewis Garrett Chumley. Most of James' descendanys are living, so you might ask the author of the tree, Jack A Money, if he can connect you with those living Chumleys.

I am currently gathering information for the Robert and Besty Ford Chumley family line in order to put together a private publication of "The Chumley's of Claiborne County, Tennessee." In my research for information/pictures/stories, I have run accross this reference citation, "Letters and papers from Jeraline Chumley Pulkrabek." Does anyone one know/have these notes or can you tell me where I might obtain a copy?

Here is an update with addition information regarding DNA results matches
with the descendant of John Chumlea and Margaret Shipe, and the descendant
of Robert Chumley and Elizabeth 'Betsy' Ford.
It has already been determined that these two descendant's DNA results match
each other, and it is further determined that they also match descendants of
the following families: Prewitt/Pruit; Bellew/Belue; Farmer; and Jackson.
Thanks to the research of others, the following is readily found on-line,
and it is believed to possibly explain the above matches:
Thomas Prewitt Sr. was born circa 1693 in Henrico Co, VA. He died about
1759 in Halifax Co, VA. He was a blacksmith and planter in Henrico,
Goochland, and Halifax Co's, VA. Thomas Prewitt Sr. married Mary Chastain
circa 1719 in Henrico Co, VA. Mary Chastain was born circa 1680 in France.
She died after 1737 in Amelia Co, VA.
During the late 1720s in Goochland Co., VA., the 1730s in Goochland Co. and
Amelia Co., VA., and 1740s in Amelia Co., VA., Thomas Prewitt was enjoying
the company of Judith Chastain Ballew, among others, and there were several
children born out-of-wedlock. Judith also had children with other
gentlemen, out-of-wedlock. One of these children was a son named
Rene/Renny/Rennie who sometimes went by Pruett, and sometimes went by Belue.
Rene/Rennie/Renny Prewitt/Belue was born circa 1729 in Virginia. Renny
Belue wrote his will in Union Co., South Carolina in 1797.
Since we have had difficulties with finding John Chumlea and Robert Chumley
ancestors, and since we now have these additional DNA matches, we have to
accept the possibility that the ancestors are Prewitts/Pruits.

We have a new member of the Cholmondeley DNA surname group who has had his DNA tested, and has gotten his results back from the lab. These results, along with his pedigree on our patriarch page, are posted on our DNA web pages at: http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/cholmondeley/
This new member is a descendant of John Chumley, who was born c1728 in Virginia, and died 1781 in Amelia Co., Virginia, and was married to Martha Lockett.
This new member's DNA results DO NOT match the results of our member that descends from Robert Chumley, who was born c1786 in Virginia, and died in 1853 in Polk Co., Missouri, and was married to Elizabeth 'Betsy' Ford.
