Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Thanks for the tip, Cyndi, will do it right now.

Larry,
HI! I have heard that our Chumleys come from England and were
probably from the Chomondeley family, but I have not gotten my line back
past the 1800s so can't say for sure. You might want to also join the
Chumbley-L list. It was the first one I started and has more members.
There were a couple of people that were on that list who were working on
some of the older lines. One was Grace Becker. You might try sending
the message to that list.
Talk to you later,
Cyndi

Larry:
Sorry I can not help you, seems our former family name was Chumney, not
Chumley.

I am taking a "shot in the dark" here and presuming that this list will
also entertain inquiries about CHOLMLEYS as well??
After searching my references and the IGI, I have concluded that I need
an expert on Cholmleys in the East Riding of Yorkshire. I've got a
Roger Cholmley, b.c. 1548, who had a daughter, Margaret, b.c. 1568 and
who married a William CLAYTON of Oakenshaw, Yorks(d. 1627).
So, if anyone has detailed knowledge of these individuals or of
Chumleys/Cholmleys in the E. Riding of Yorkshire, would be glad to
discuss with you at greater length.
Regards to all,
