Part of circulating oral history is that there is a "Chambly/Chamblee Castle" in Scotland. Intense research through Scottish history books in the early 1990's revealed nothing of vintage worth. Later when a cousin of a co-researcher visited the British Isles he visited the Shambellie Castle, purchased a brochure, and headed back to Alabama defrocking another mythical legend.
Shambellie House was built in 1854 by Scottish architect David Bryce for the Stewart family in 1856. Charles Stewart, a descendant, gave the house and his unique costume collection to the Naitonal Museum of Scotland. For more information directly in Scotland, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Museum_of_Costume
Not sure if this helps on your line.
