This web site once again points to a cause that many of us will never find our Chumbley ancestors' graves in Russell County --- particularly those who lived in the Wolf Creek area.

Issued an Oklahoma medical license #1027 on Feb. 18, 1908; at that time, his residence is listed as Rocky, Oklahoma (Washita County).
1910 U.S. Census lists both Charles (written CARLES) and his wife Bertha living in Washita County, Oklahoma. They had been married one year.
Both Charles and Bertha (Foley) Chumbley were raised in Russell County/Pulaski County (along the border) Kentucky. He must have established a practice, then returned for her. The 1910 census lists his age as 42; hers as 27. Also, this 1910 census spells his name CARLES A. Chumbley

I have been in touch with a grandson of James Milford Chumbley, son of James Franklin Chumbley and Lucy Ellen Fry Chumbley. He sent me a photo of one of James' brothers, Dr. Charles Andrew Chumbley, and his family sitting in an early automobile .Judging by the ages of the boys (Ralph and Roy), it might be around 1915 (Their mother died in 1918). Could someone tell me where they might have lived at the time?
I will email the photo to anyone who wants it (it was sent as a copied image rather than the actual photo). ralora(a)earthlink.net
