NAME AGE PLACE DATE RELATIVE CHIMLEY, William H 78 MUHL (D)
02 Jan 1939 (M)
This information came from the Kentucky Vital Records just placed on
line at:
rootsweb.kentucky gen web.
Does anyone know or think that this might be William Henderson Chumley,
m. Sarah Owens, son of David Chumley and Elizabeth Condrey.
The year of birth is correct and the place of death could be correct. I
last found him in the 1920 Cen. Skilesville, Muhlenberg Co., Kentucky.
Sincerely,
Glenda Mounger
John Cholmondely & wife are in Georgia on 05 May 1747. Charles Cholmondley,
Esq. is there on 30 June 1733. Mr. Cholmondeley is there ca 29 Sept 1763.
Have any of you any further information on these individuals?
Is the "John Cholmondely & wife" [without children] in Georgia the same John
Chumbley who is NOT present in the Amelia Co., VA Tithable record of 1747, but
is present in Amelia County before that and again by January 1749? He
remains in Amelia County until his death when he identifies, among others, his son,
John.
Have any of you a record of what must be the second marriage of his son, John
Chumbley, whose first marriage is in Amelia County, Va to Elizabeth. I think
it must occur when he is enroute to Georgia before 1797 or in the vicinity of
Wilkes Co., GA.
His daughter, Elizabeth, is mine and is born in Georgia, ca 1801/2. I do not
feel that he and his first wife, Elizabeth, would "farm out" their children
and leave for Georgia. I think she must have died, and he left.
I would appreciate any help which you can offer.
