The rest of my message should have been:
My brother lives in Bourbon County, KY, and has been helpful in trying to find John Chumbley, husband of Elizabeth Dicken, who might have been in Bourbon County for awhile. The 1810 census for Bourbon County lists:
John CHIMLEY: 1 free white male 16-25, 1 fwm 45 and over, 1 free white female under 10, 2 ages 10-15, one 16-25, and 1 26-44.
Might this be our John? Rather, is it probable that this is John, husband of Elizabeth Dicken?

Sorry, in typing my previous query, I hit "Enter" before I was finished.
Anyway, I was wondering if this "John Chimley" in the 1810 Bourbon Co, KY census might be the John Chumbley, husband of Elizabeth Dicken. The age would fit him (over 45), but I do not have an approximate birth date for her -- the oldest female was 26-44.
I am asking because one source states that in his Revolutionary War pension application, he said that he lived for a time in Bourbon County, Ky {I myself do not have a copy yet of this pension, so please pardon me if this is incorrect.]

Glenda, my apologies. In my haste, I typed an adjoining number.
Let me write directly from the pension application: "That Anna J. Lyons and Elias B. Chumbley was [sic] married about April 6, 1887 and Elias B. Chumbley's former wife Ellen E. Chumbley died about December 20, 1886.That Queen Victory [sic] Chumbley is the only child of Elias B. (deced) that is under 16 years at the date of filing claim on Jan. 31, 1912."
This deposition was given by Martha F. Roy, a neighbor of the Chumbleys near Teddy, Casey County, KY, on March 11, 1912 to J.F. Tarter.

Dear Alice,
Please explain how Ellen Nelle Dunsmore Chumbley died in 1858 in Pulaski Co., Kentucky, when she is alive and well in the 1880 cen. of Russell Co., Kentucky!
Could you have made a type O, in you last message? She was very much alive and possibly the mother of all of the children.

Tammy, I got the Civil War pension application for service of Elias Britton Chumbley, filed by Anna Lyons Chumbley Davidson Coples, the second wife of Elias. Seems that the first wife Ellen Nelly Densmore died in 1858 in Pulaski Co & then Elias remarried. Elias died in Casey County (area called Teddy or Evona) on Oct. 31, 1900.
Let me know if you want me to send more info.
Also, they sent me lots I didn't need on Anna's second husband James K.P. Davidson. Much more on him than on Elias. Does that name mean anything to you? He's a Casey Co. person too.
