Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.

> Dear Tammy and List,
>
I found a marriage record for this couple on roots web some time ago.
Even though I cannot place Mahala, I did more are less think that she
was of the Andrew and Elizabeth Cadle Chumbley lines some where down the
line, as this couple was the one that went to Kentucky.
Andrew and Elizabeth Chumbley had a daughter Mahala but she was b. in
1831 and married John Chaney.
I am sure that this Mahala that married the Marcus Green Litterell is of
this family lines, but do not know exactly where.
If she did not die until 1973, there should be a death record for her,
it just might tell who her parents were.
Sincerely,
Glenda Bales Mounger

Notes for JOHN TYLER CHUMNEY:
History of Stewart Co, Georgia, Vol II P 717 Chumney Family Bio
John Tyler Chumney entered the Confederate Army at the age of 20. First
served under Gen. John B. Gordon and then under Stonewall Jackson. He was
captured twice and family tradition has it he bribed his way out of prison
with gold hidden in his shoe. Evidently his father, John A. Chumney and his
stepmother died before the 1860 census was taken for they are not shown and
John Tyler Chumney, being a minor had a guardian when he left home to join
the Confederate Army. He had a considerable amount of money for those times
as his brothers got the land. While he was away in the Army, his guardian
thinking he would never return from the War, spent the money. On his return home
after the War, rather than have court action, John Tyler Chumney left Henry County,
Alabama and come to Stewart County to find work. What kind of work this neat,
gentle, refined, good humored man with a twinkle in his eye, found, is not known.
His granddaughter remembers him as of slight build, always neatly dressed and
groomed, with a clipped mustache, and a low gentle voice. We never saw him
perform any kind of labor on his farm as he was more of the gentleman
overseer type.
When his son was seven years old, he moved to Texas and settled in red,
sandy, Teague where peaches grew like they did in Georgia and where he and
his 2nd wife had ten children.

that John Tyler was a minor and was assigned three guardians.
