I'm interested in information about a line of Chubb's that lived on the St. Regis Mission, (reservation) in Hogansburg, Franklin County NY/the Canadian border. I am descended from this family and would like to hear from anyone who might know about them.

Your post is 8 years old so I hope you are still looking. I have an Alva Chubb who was born in Illinois 1874, the son of James Harvey CHUBB and Martha Ann BRAMAN. I believe that James' father, Joel CHUBB may have been the son of Harvey CHUBB who moved to Michigan sometime after 1810. Joel was born 1808 and may have been the "male -5" living with Alexander CHUBB in the 1810 census.

I am looking for Chubbs in Michigan. I think. My Joel Chubb was born in New York in 1808. There is an Alexander Chubb who had a male age -5 in 1810. I think this may have been my Joel. Alexander is said to have had a son named Harvey (my Joel had a son named James Harvey -- James for his maternal grandfather; was Harvey for his paternal grandfather. This type of naming was common in my Chubb family) There was a Harvey Chubb in Michigan about the time Joel went to Ohio and married Sarah Dyer in 1832.
